Is there a scientific name for dog hair? If there is, what is it?

for science homework, lol

Is there a scientific name for dog hair? If there is, what is it?

I'm pretty sure that most just refer to dog hair as "dog hair," but you might find it interesting that animal hair is divided into three categories:

* Guard hairs that form the outer coat of an animal and provide protection

* Fur or wool hairs that form the inner coat of an animal and provide insulation

* Tactile hairs (whiskers) that are found on the head of animals and provide sensory functions

Is there a scientific name for dog hair? If there is, what is it?

fur, maybe?

Is there any way to reduce dog hair shedding?

He's a black lab/mix. Feeding him Iams.

Is there any way to reduce dog hair shedding?

Set him on fire. The hair won't grow back. I'm sure there are other ways too but thats all I could think of

Is there any way to reduce dog hair shedding?

Brush more often.

Better quality food = better quality coat which = less shedding

Is there any way to reduce dog hair shedding?

brush often, evry day-evry other day. Also talk with your vet, she might recommend a diff food.

Is there any way to reduce dog hair shedding?

trim him short and brush him. buy a Furminator. you can get them from most major pet stores. they remove the under coat which is the shedding part. it works so well on my longer haired breed. definetly get one of theese!

Is there any way to reduce dog hair shedding?

Well a much better food would help. Iam's is junk in bag!

Brushing him daily would also help a ton.

Look into a much better food for your dog first. Canidae, Solid Gold, Innova, Timber Wold. All top quality dog food.

Is there any way to reduce dog hair shedding?

I would recommend taking a trip to your local pet store and buying a brush especially made to help stop shedding. Also I would ask you vet to recommend a higher quality food. Iams is not so good for you beloved friend. You dog is still going to shed, but it should reduce the amount left all over your house. Good Luck.

Is there any way to reduce dog hair shedding?

I hear there's nothing to do for shedding. My vet had some stuff that's taken by mouth and he actually told me not to waste my money on it! My dog sheds terribly and all that I can tell you is I love my swiffer sweeper for the wood floors and I keep my vac handy which doesn't do much and I keep a big roll of clear packing tape with scissors nearby and that's what I use to pull most of the hair off the furniture. I know some people that shave their dogs bare but then I'd think you'd have little tiny hair all over which would be just as bad! Good luck, I hope your dog is worth the hair, ours is!

Is there any way to reduce dog hair shedding?

get a shedding comb and brush dog every week or so til there is nothing left to shed.

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

We no longer have the dog, but there are still massive amounts of hair on all our dark clothes.

Is there anything they make that you can put in the dryer to collect pet hair?

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

Try a standard lent remover, the kind that rolls over your clothes and has the sticky substance on it that grabs the hair.

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

With a plastic household-glove you can take the hairs of the clothes/sofa etc.

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

I use one of those rolling things with the sticky paper on it.

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

Put the piece of clothing on and have someone else press sticky/adhesive tape against it. The tape will lift off all the hair.

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

Spray the clothes with water, then put in the dryer w/ a dryer sheet. It won't remove all of it, but you can get the remainder off with a lint roller (the ones that have sticky, tape-like stuff on them).

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

I'd say the easiest thing to do is to use a lint roller.

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

Lint roller - peel and roll, peel and roll, peel and roll...

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

to my knowledge, there is nothing that can be used during the wash or dry cycle.

Best bet, hang the clothes from a door jam or other open area, and get either a commercial roller with sticky paper, or just plain duct tape and run that over the clothes. The hair will stick to the tape, which can then be easily thrown away.

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

At the pet store I bought this special pet hair remover sponge for $2.00. You use it dry and it collects the hair when you wipe with it. It is reusable. You can wash it when it gets dirty. They last forever. I bought 2 last year and still have not opened the other sponge from its wrapper. I use it on clothes and furniture.

What is the best way to get rid of dog hair already on clothes?

I use a damp cloth on both clothes and furniture.

Is there any OTC medication for dog hair allergy that works?

Try Claritin, but take it BEFORE you start having a really bad allergic reaction. All allergy meds work best if you take them before the allergic reaction really gets going. It's easier to prevent it from happening than to reverse a reaction that has already started.

Is there any OTC medication for dog hair allergy that works?

I keep hearing that Alavert is a good allergy med.

Is there any OTC medication for dog hair allergy that works?

u should get ahold of your vet. he should no of any over the counter medication's.

Is there any OTC medication for dog hair allergy that works?

Try loratadine (Claritin). It has few side effects and helps with my allergies. Bendryl works, but it makes me very tired.

Is there any OTC medication for dog hair allergy that works?

Listen, the problem isn't the medication... It's the dog hair. I find that people generally are not seeing the picture clearly when it comes to pets.... If you are allergic to dog hair, then you have to something about the dog. Either you need to bathe the dog more frequently, get rid of your carpeting (which holds on to the dog hair forever), or make the dog an outside dog. Animal dander gets into everything and you have to take aggressive steps to get rid of it. Allergies tend to worsen with time if you keep exposing yourself to the allergen! At a minimum get the dog professionally groomed frequently and remove any unnecessary carpeting in your house. That will help more than any OTC meds.

How do you get ALL the dog hair out of your carpet?

Actually, having carpet is better for a dog's joints -- hardwood floors can really do a number on their knees and hips over time, as they bound around each day. I have a dog, and the best investment I made was a Dyson Animal DC-14. It gets ALL the hair and then some out of the carpet. My best advice is to invest in a great vacuum with a carpet brush. When I want to get extra hair out of the carpet, I get on my hands and knees with the carpet brush, and I brush against the grain of the carpet, and then with the grain. All this stuff comes out!

How do you get ALL the dog hair out of your carpet?

well if a really good vacume won't work.. and you're still not happy after you have the pros come and clean it for you.. you may just haveta get a new carpet and not let the dog in the house.

Try a carpet rake.. you'll be very surprised what that gets out of your carpet.

How do you get ALL the dog hair out of your carpet?

I would use a rug doctor. They are a cheap alternative to professional steam cleaning and it really gets the gunk out. Since you can rent them, it ends up costing alot less. I've included a link to the rug doctor web page where you can search for a rental near you.

How do you get ALL the dog hair out of your carpet?

you never can get all the hair out, but if you get on your hands and knees and just rub you get a good amount of it out. The only real way is to get rid of the dog, but who wants to do that. Dog hair is just part of being an animal lover. Also, try using a wet wash rag and rub it across your carpet.

How do you get ALL the dog hair out of your carpet?

pull up the carpet...that's just gross. sorry, but i don't see why people let their animals run around on their carpet floors. i'm all for having indoor animals, but my floors will be hard wood before i get any pet in there trompin around on it

How do you get ALL the dog hair out of your carpet?

get new carpet!

How do you get ALL the dog hair out of your carpet?

You can either use a really, really strong vacuum cleaner or you can take scotch-tape and paste it all over your carpet before stripping it off. The more stubborn dog hair should come out.

What is the best vacuume for dog hair on low pile area carpets that won't lose power?

If you have a tight budget, you can try the Hoover Whirlwind. I just got one because my Husky sheds huge amounts of hair and our regular vac just wasn't cutting it. The Hoover Whirlwind is working magic with the hair! It doesn't use bags, it has a filter and everytime you use it, you can see all the hair and dirt it picks up. It's amazing, sometimes there will be no trace of hair on the carpet and I'll vaccum, and it picks up all the hair that is deep into the carpet. My floors look so much cleaner and people that come over notice the difference!

What is the best vacuume for dog hair on low pile area carpets that won't lose power?

DYSON!

I purchased one over a year ago, and this thing REALLY gets the animal hair our of my carpet... and what's best is, you can see how much hiar is removed... it's pretty awesome!

What is the best vacuume for dog hair on low pile area carpets that won't lose power?

Dyson makes a vac specifically designed for pet hair. It's the purple one. It's a bit pricey, but it's so worth it. It works wonderfully and does NOT lose suction! A friend of ours has had their for several years now and it works just as well today as the day they bought it (they have 3 hairy dogs).

What is the best vacuume for dog hair on low pile area carpets that won't lose power?

Any good vacuum that is well cared for. I have 3 cats- and believe me, cat fur is as bad as dog, if not worse. But my Bissel upright bagless takes care of it. Also, I've heard good things about Dyson.

Good luck!

What is the best vacuume for dog hair on low pile area carpets that won't lose power?

I've heard Dyson vacuums are awesome

What is the best vacuume for dog hair on low pile area carpets that won't lose power?

I use a handheld vaccuum to clean up dog hair piles and/or dog messes on hardware floors, carpet, and tile. You can charge it with a base and recharge it, and just use it almost anywhere (cordless), just have to make sure you put it back on the base to recharge. It cost about 20-25 dollars and you can purchase it at Target, Walmart, Best Buy, almost anywhere.

What is the best vacuume for dog hair on low pile area carpets that won't lose power?

disen has a vaccum that speciializes in homes w/ animals that I have heard is wonderful. I think it is also like 400 $ or something like that.

What is the best vacuume for dog hair on low pile area carpets that won't lose power?

Without a doubt the Dyson. We have the one made especially for pet hair and with two dogs it is the greatest thing. We have had ours for well over 5 years and not one problem. It is quiet, effective and no bags to change. I even use it to vacuume my lab with no problems.

How do you keep lint and dog hair off a wool coat?

Use a damp (not wet) clean sponge . It should just wipe right off. Then spray it with static guard. It won't attract so much lint and hair.

How do you keep lint and dog hair off a wool coat?

Stay away from the dog? Not possible if you live with a dog.

I like the saying, no outfit is complete without cat hair!! We have 2 cats :0)

How long does it take for dog hair to grow back?

it depends what type of dog it is.

usually 3-6 months,

hope this helps, why did you want to know, just curious

How long does it take for dog hair to grow back?

It depends on the type of dog. But it grows a lot slower than human hair.

If it's a long hair breed, naturally it will take longer for it to grow back because if it's length.

If it's a short hair breed it will appear to grow back more quickly.

How long does it take for dog hair to grow back?

Provided the dog does not continue to lick or scratch the area and if he has an undercoat or not, between a month and two seasons. Longer for long haired breeds.

How long does it take for dog hair to grow back?

It depends on why the hair is missing to begin with. If it fell out because of poor nutrition or illness, it may never grow back, or it could take several months before the dog's health recovers enough to grow it back.

If the dog was shaved for some reason, it grows back a little slower than human hair. You'll see stubble after a few days, and depending on the original length of the hair, it could take a few weeks to a few months. My hound has short hair (about 1/3"), and it took about 6 weeks to grow out from being shaved down to the skin on her belly.

How long does it take for dog hair to grow back?

I don't know!

How long does it take for dog hair to grow back?

maybe 4 to 6 months, taking infact that the dog is not sick

How long does it take for dog hair to grow back?

my vet says usually 6 months.

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

I bought a new vacuum back in June....I read the Consumer Reports rating.

They had rated the Kenmore vac $350 as #1 for pet hair. Next was the Eureka Boss SmartVac as #2 $150.

I bought the Eureka and I love it. I have two Ragdolls, and they shed like crazy. I vacuum about two-three times a week.

It rates higher for pet hair than the Dyson Animal, and it costs far less. Of course, I've never used a Dyson, so I have no way to really compare, but I didn't want to spend that much on a vacuum!

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

The Dyson Slim... it is awesome!

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

Not sure if it楹搒 the best , Dyson animal , I have a Dyson , no pet楹搒. But my daughter has a dog and when ever they come to visit her lovely dog Naika , always leaves her hairs behind. Once I pass the my vacuum, you would never guess the dog had been here. Also the Dyson it楹搒 great for hard floors , all carpets , no bag , easy to remove and clean filter. Wash under water and leave to dry for 12 hrs. None of this buying a new filter every 3 months, Also if anyone in your family suffers from allergies. Then Dyson is the vacuum you might like to check out

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

Kirby Vacuum Cleaner

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

For what it's worth, Consumer Reports rates the Kenmore Progressive with Direct Drive (35922) as the best upright vaccuum cleaner. It rated alot better then the Dyson.

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

Consumer Reports says for pet hair

canister

Electrolux/Oxygen or Sears Kenmore

upright

Sears Kenmore

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

I would definately say the Electrolux pet lover, I've tried all the dysons with no luck (they do lose suction!) and now love my electrolux which I've had for nearly a year.

I have a lurcher who leaves so much dog hair behind you wouldn't believe!

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

I agree with a couple of the people that already have answered. We have 6 dogs and we have a Dyson Animal it is the best vaccum in the world... We had just a standard upright and we always thought the floor was clean untill we used a Dyson! It works wonders a little on the pricey side but long lasting and working great! It actualy picks up bigger items as well...Great vaccum!

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

The Dyson made for pet hair. They have several but the especially for pet is great. I have two large dogs and I vaccuum my Lab everyday and it has held up for years, it is quiet and does a great job.

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

Never heard of a Dyson, but we have a bissell and 3 dogs with plenty of dander and hair. I'm surprised, as much as we've used it, it hasn't died. It does well for us!

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

My Dyson Animal (the purple one) does a great job cleaning up after my pup. Maybe not the most romantic gift from my husband, but it sure does make my life easier when cleaning up around the house! :)

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

Dyson. Don't scrimp. They run about 400-500 bucks but you'll never be sorry. Mine's great and I have 2 dogs and a cat.

What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

the higher the amps the better the power

What can i use to get dog hair out of car interior?

Honestly, a lint brush is the only way to go.....good luck!!

What can i use to get dog hair out of car interior?

Found a perfect gadget for that same problem. Check your local pet store.

It is a rubber brush and it removes pet hair, fuzz and anything else, so easy. I can't think of the name of it.

It is black, with flat rubber bristles.

What can i use to get dog hair out of car interior?

Wow, very good question! Easily.. Not too much.. If you want to spend some time at it, vacuum, and get those rollers that have the sticky tape, and roll the whole interior of the car.. Won't get it all, but you can get most of it :)

What can i use to get dog hair out of car interior?

Go to WalMart and get some spray call Static Guard. Its in the laundry section. spray the seats with that and then vacuum them. It is helps break the static bond of the dog hair to the fabric interior. I use this stuff every where I get dog hair. Just don't use it on vinyl or leather.

What can i use to get dog hair out of car interior?

I get better results using the clear packing tape rolled around my hand (sticky side out). It is cheaper to use than a lint brush and has a stronger sticky substance. As the tape gets full of hair, toss and get another piece. I have one of those rubber brushes (doesn't work for me), as well as a red brush that has a knappy, velour type of material that works ok. I stick (no pun intended) to the tape method for almost every surface in my car and home.

What can i use to get dog hair out of car interior?

You can try a damp chamois cloth also !! Good Luck !!

What can i use to get dog hair out of car interior?

same as what you use to get the sand/dirt out - a vacuum... some carwash locations have them, or get a dirt devil or dust buster or whatever brand you prefer of portable handheld vacuum...

What can i use to get dog hair out of car interior?

Lint rollers or heavy duty tape. It'll take off most of it, but not all of it. And, it takes a long time!

My woven rug is covered in dog hair from my pup, how do I clean it? Vaccuum does not work?

The Vac does not work because its so thin, it just sucks up the rug - should I bring it to the dry cleaners? its a 4x6 I believe

My woven rug is covered in dog hair from my pup, how do I clean it? Vaccuum does not work?

Have you tried taking a broom to it. Take it out doors and sweep it. Hope this helps...:)

My woven rug is covered in dog hair from my pup, how do I clean it? Vaccuum does not work?

Try adjusting the height of the roller of your vac. Also try some of those tape rolley thingies made just for removing dog hair. 3M makes some and they roll the dog hair right off and work great. You have to keep removing the tape with the hair to get a new sticky surface.

My woven rug is covered in dog hair from my pup, how do I clean it? Vaccuum does not work?

Try wadding up some duct tape and pick it up with the tape.

My woven rug is covered in dog hair from my pup, how do I clean it? Vaccuum does not work?

Easy !

it might be a lot of work if you have a large rug but this really works .

Wear a rubber glove and with a brushing motion of your hand pull toward you, you will pick up all the hair.

And if you have hairs on a sweater you can put a bit of masking tape around your hand and do the same .

My woven rug is covered in dog hair from my pup, how do I clean it? Vaccuum does not work?

Try the LINT ROLLERS, they are very inexpensive and you can get them almost any where near the cleaning section of Wal Mart, K Mart, Target, etc. It is a roller that has sticky tape on the outside and it works pretty well.

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.

I have a Toy Poodle X Shih-Tzu (Shoodle) and she doesn't shed hair, neither of those breeds do........

I think a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel would be good as a family dog..... (used to own one)

Poodles are smart but Border Collies are the smartest dog you can get :-)

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

We have a pugapoo, which is a mix between a pug and a poodle. I know it sounds hideous, but it is the cutest dog ever. He is so smart and lovable. His fur is hypoalergenic and it does not shed. He looks a lot like a wire-haired terrier. He is very low to the ground and very solid, so he can roughhouse with the kids, but he does not take the work that a large dog requires.

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

Well i am alergic to dogs as well and i bought a Coodle. Which is a Cavalier cross poodle and it doesnt shed hair, is very playful and friendly and also is just good company with a good nature. There is also many other dogs that are like this but after research i found this breed to be the best one for me anyways

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

No dog is hypoallergenic, but some come close.

I breed pugs and chinese cresteds.

Pugs are awesome dogs for kids, and thrive in homes with children, but they shed a lot and are not good for allergies.

Chinese Cresteds are super silly and fun dogs that love kids and the whole family. They are as close to hypoallergenic that a dog can be. They come in two varieties, hairless and puffed. The hairless have basically no hair on the main body but do on the head and tail and feet, super cute. The puffs have a full coat of hair. I have severe allergies and even the puffs don't bother me at all. This is the only breed I have tolerated with no side effects.

A second generation golden doodle is the next closest thing to allergy free.

Some of the toy breeds have hair instead of fur and that usually works much better for allergies.

Good luck!!

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

labradors, and retrievers i like

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

A Poodle. Although I have never owned one I know that they are the best dog for allergy sufferers and they don't shed. They are also the most intelligent breed of dog you can get ( that is why they are used in so many circuses as they are so easy to train).

There are a number of different sized Poodles but the standard one is the one that would suit you and your kids.

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

The best option for you allergy wise, would be a poodle. They come in several sizes so you can find just the right size for you. My sister breeds toy poodles, and she also has a son with severe allergies. Her poodles do not bother his allergies and are great with all of her kids (ages 7, 5, and 4.) If you are wanting a dog that is good with your kids I would not suggest going too small though. Some toy poodles are too small for rough kids, and get nervous around too much noise. Please do not follow what the other people have said on here and get a "designer breed" such as a puggle, schnoodle, etc. These dogs are labeled as hypoallergenic alot of the time, but they are not! If you are going to get a mixed breed dog find one at your local shelter. The people breeding these mixes are irresponsible, bad breeders. Anyone breeding these mixes are only contributing to other mixed dogs being killed every day, and are contributing to major health defects. They are in it for the money, not the love of their breed. Sorry for the rant, but irresponsible ignorant so called "breeders" really aggrevate me. If you want more info on what type of dog would fit your family, contact a vet in your area. They will be able to help you pick something that will fit your family perfect. I would say your best bet though would be a poodle in the size of your choice.

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

Labs and Golden Retrievers r great with kids. Poodles do not shed, but can be rather high strung, more suitable for adults. As a thumb of rule, big dogs r protective of kids, while small breeds r usually a one person dog who can be snippy with children.

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

Go to YAHOO! and type in "dog breed selector" Several questionnaires will come up. They will ask you about your lifestyle and preferences. This should give you a good idea about the breed good for you. Once you get it narrowed down, go to akc.com and look at the breed standard. then you may want to volunteer at a shelter or rescue so you can meet the dogs in person and see if you connect. Another resource might be to go to a dog show. Whatever you do, don't go to a pet shop or a backyard breeder

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

furless dog ! is the best ! i saw it from tv it is call chinese-crested-dog

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

Most kid friendly that are also low allergy: Poodles, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Portugese Water Dog. NO dog is hypo-allergenic, but these come closest: http://www.akc.org/news/index.cfm?articl...

Don't believe anyone about the 'poo' mixes: it is genetically impossible to guarantee they will not be more allergy-inducing %26amp; shedding like the other part they are: Labrador, etc. - they are marketed with these lies by scam artists to gullible people - any vet would tell them the truth, if they had only asked.

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

I have an American Eskimo and he is so friendly! He is an all white dog but is surprisingly clean. I read that they are good for people with allergies.

What is the most kid friendly dog? And which kind of dog hair or fur is best for an allergic person.?

Well, I don't know how many breeds out there are suitable for allergy sufferers but if you are looking for a dog that is both kid friendly and good for someone with allergies then I would suggest a standard poodle. Besides the grooming needs they require, poodles are extremely intelligent and do not shed. Toy and Minature poodles are great too but if you have small children then the standard would be best. Good luck!

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

Over in nsw australia, from the markets or vet clinins you can purchase static pet hair remover brusher. They work brilliantly, if you can aquire one of those by possibly searching ebay? otherwise some link brushes may work other than that dog hair on couches etc. Also dog hair is unavoidable no matter how much you brush them. goodluck

If you are desperate for one i may be able to purchase one and post to you at a cost? goodluck either way

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

get rid of furry or soft things and replace with hard things like wood floor.

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

Use those lint 'n hair pick up rollers.

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

a lent brush, or just go to the pet store and ask someone working there if they have anything for that.

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

Buy alot of duct tape...

and brush the dog more often...

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

If you would brush your dog regularly to get the undercoat out then your job would be a little easier and less hairy.

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

Lint rollers, vacuum cleaners, no carpets, plastic covers on furniture, brush your dog's hair everyday (or give him a nice hair do) ;-)

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

just learn to live with it and carry a lint brush everywhere.

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

There's a pet sponge available from WalMart and other stores in the Pet Section, that will get rid of ALL those stuck in pet hairs.

You just drag the dry sponge over the affected piece of furniture and the hair rolls up into a tube, which you then pick off and deposit in the garbage. It will even get all those nasty stuck-in hairs that most lint rollers leave behind.

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

I have the same problem. Cover you furniture with something you can throw in the wash. Vacuum frequently- even the furniture. Keep a lint roller handy always- even in the car. Brush your dog frequently and bath once or twice a month. Hair spray. Makes the hair on furniture and stuff slightly tacky, and easier to vacuum and pick up with the lint roller.

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

Well if it really bothers you get rid of the dog but if not brush you dog and vacuum alot don't sweep it pushes the hair everywhere also vacummes every where. Use a dryer sheet on your dogs coat to help remove some of the excess hair on you dog and you dog will smell good also. Also a good grooming not nessecarily cutting the dogs hair but blow drying the dogs hair through a professional groomer helps minimize hair shedding in your home

How do you get rid of dog hair that is stuck in everything?

Cheapest way is to buy a roll of masking tape. Its way cheaper than the lint rollers sold by pet stores and equally effective.

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

Get wide sticky tape and wrap some around your hands and then pat the area and it will lift the hairs..

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

Try using a thick extra sticky tape - a lint roller or lint brush.

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

duct tape. i use it on everything. best thing that ever was invented

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

Spray them with an anti-static spray, and vacuum using the hose and the connection that looks like a brush.....brush back and fourth, and you'll get nice clumps of hair off.

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

Try a squeegee - the rubber should pull out quite a bit.

If they are velour, go with the knap, or the direction of the fuzzy part of the material.

Or, just look at it as extra insulation ;-)

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

Get the silver colored duct tape and roll it around your hand in a circle, backwards so the sticky side is out. Roll it with your hand over the cloth seat. It'll take several loops to remove everything , but it's the most efficient method I ever tried.

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

Use a vaccum cleaner.

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

Get a rug shampoo device with an upholstery attachment.

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

Have you used the hose attachment to the vacuum and vacuumed the seat using the hose and attachment?

How about lint rollers?

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

Try using a lint brush. The best way I know is to put duct tape around your hand where the sticky part is outside and that does a good job . Try it .

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

Really strong suction vacuum cleaner and a whole lot of time and patience.

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

try a lint roller or maybe a portable vaccum.

Does anyone know how to get dog hair out of car seats? (the seats are cloth)?

you can get one of those sticky lint rollers that are meant for coats to get dog fur off, or you can get it vaccumed (by yourself or at the carwash)

Does baking/bi carb/ soda remove dog hair?

i'm about to try it as stated on this website

http://www.stretcher.com/stories/04/04se...

is it true?

Does baking/bi carb/ soda remove dog hair?

I have used the fabric softener idea before and it worked well. Just make sure you just use a light spray. I sweep my carpet with a broom after misting...It gets the hair out of the corners and along the walls better than a vacuum. Happy cleaning!

Does baking/bi carb/ soda remove dog hair?

As far as I have seen with use of baking soda it removes stains and odors, but never even thought about dog hair. If it works let me know..I have 2 dogs and a cat... could be handy.

I heard about strips for dogs on TV. It takes dog hair off of furniture, etc. I don't remember

The strips are about 2ft by 3 ft

I heard about strips for dogs on TV. It takes dog hair off of furniture, etc. I don't remember the addy.?

try a lint roller

I heard about strips for dogs on TV. It takes dog hair off of furniture, etc. I don't remember the addy.?

Yes, they work great. I buy the Hartz brand from the grocery store.

I heard about strips for dogs on TV. It takes dog hair off of furniture, etc. I don't remember the addy.?

PetSmart has great lint rollers that have broom-like handles so it's easier to just roll across the couch, or bottom of the curtains, bed skirt, or wherever else your pet hangs out most. The roller itself is also larger then your average lint roller for clothes.

I heard about strips for dogs on TV. It takes dog hair off of furniture, etc. I don't remember the addy.?

Use duct tape strips.

Save some for your S%26amp;M session though.

I heard about strips for dogs on TV. It takes dog hair off of furniture, etc. I don't remember the addy.?

Get a lint remover. You can also take a wet, well rung out clean wash rag and wipe it over the couch and it will remove the fur.

Make sure it is not too wet, just damp.

Good luck.

How do u safely dye dog hair?

Kool aid

http://themovingcastle.com/journal/?p=18...

How do u safely dye dog hair?

dont do it

How do u safely dye dog hair?

You don't unless you're a professional.

How do u safely dye dog hair?

You don't and that is totally cruel - their hair is not meant to be died - their skin is sensitive and it can burn them - hair dye does not say use this on animals too - really if you are considering that, you should instead consider giving your dog away to someone who won't hurt him - who wouldn't think about it - what is happening to society - that's sick

A dog is a dog - he's not supposed to be dressed up and shoved in bags and died like he is some kind of dress up doll - if you are that immature, why don't you get a doll since you don't, obviously, know how to take care of an actual living, breathing, animal. Poor dog - really.

How do u safely dye dog hair?

It's not safe to dye your dog. It's animal abuse.

How do u safely dye dog hair?

Why do you want to dye a dogs hair. It is not safe. Please don't do it. Think how you would feel if the dog dies due to an allergic reaction because you thought it would be fun.

How do u safely dye dog hair?

use peroxide its safe or use the hair dye for men for faicial hair it has to be pretty safe to put on ones face but i would go with the peroxide if you dont need more than one color

How do u safely dye dog hair?

No idea why you would want to do that but some groomers will do it for you.

How do u safely dye dog hair?

You might want to check the local laws. This is considered animal cruelty in many states! Commercial hair dyes, such as what humans use is cruel and viscious! This can burn their skin and eyes, blind them and burn the linings of their lungs.

If the state determines dyeing is legal, go to a groomer who offers this. they have access to gentler dyes that will not hurt the dog.

How do u safely dye dog hair?

try kool-aid

How do u safely dye dog hair?

You Don't....To hard on their skin

How do u safely dye dog hair?

You can dye hair (human or otherwise) with Jello.

If you were my and you did this to your dog, however, I would report you to the ASPCA.

This is not a loving thing to do. Shame on you.

How do u safely dye dog hair?

Yep, I've heard Kool Aid is the best thing you can use to dye your dogs hair with (just be careful not to get any in it's eyes). I've also heard an easy way to do this, so you don't make a mess all over is to take the dog outside and put the Kool Aid mixture in a spray bottle and spray it on the dogs coat (you may want to put rubber gloves on your hands though or they may be dyed whatever color for a couple of days.........hehehe)

How do u safely dye dog hair?

Kool AID!!

not cruel..

I dye my own hair with it...

How do u safely dye dog hair?

go 2 a professional groomer and get it done

they usually no what 2 do...........

How do u safely dye dog hair?

Why would you want to? unless your dog is a fugative and you are trying to hide him out- that would be a perfect disguise.

How do u safely dye dog hair?

Kool-Aid works.

For stronger colors, try using the little jars of thick, paste-like food coloring from the grocery store. Dilute it with a little water and let it sit for a while- totally harmless even if they try to eat it.

Never ever use human hair dye, bleach, peroxide, or even the spray-on color or Manic Panic type dyes. If you can't eat it , don't use it on your dog.

How do u safely dye dog hair?

dont do it.Its cruel and your dog could get sick.Theres chemicals in it not including the ammonia

How do you clean up dog hair on a leather sofa?

Its called a hair remover, at walmart

How do you clean up dog hair on a leather sofa?

Vacuum??

How do you clean up dog hair on a leather sofa?

Wet washcloth, then dry.

How do you clean up dog hair on a leather sofa?

Vacuum is the best and if there's any left over dog hair, a moist paper towel to wipe off the rest.

How do you clean up dog hair on a leather sofa?

I use a damp towel or paper towels and then let it air dry.

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

I read somewhere if you put plastic gloves on your hands and use them that it'll work.

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

a lint roller works wonders!!

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

duck tape. it is awesome for pulling those little tiny hairs out that the vaccuum wont pick up

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

Tape

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

rap tape around ur hand sticky side out and "pet" it

my teacher does this with his shirt [he has cats]

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

Vacuum, tape/lint roller.

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

If you don't have a lint roller, try this! (It works on dark clothing too!)

Take some packing tape (the clear kind) and lightly wrap some around your hand, sticky side out. (two or three loops is enough) Run your hand over the area with dog hair. Hair sticks to tape, then toss the tape away!

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

I use a lint roller and they work great. The kind that is like tape and once the 'sticky' is gone you tear it off at the perforated line and it takes off the used piece?

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

I don't recommend tape because it leaves a sticky residue that attracts even more hair.

Try wetting your hand and wiping your furniture. Surprise!!!

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

i spray down furniture with fabreeze and then use my hands to "roll" off all of the fur from our furniture with my hands.

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

I use a damp washcloth. It works great.

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

Please ask one of your maids to clean up. It's not butlers job!

Any good tricks to getting dog hair off of furniture?? thanks!!!?

I use the rolling masking tape lint remover. Works well for me.

Peace.

Which vacuum works best with dog hair?

We have a kenmore canister vacuum and are wanting an upright. Are Dyson vacuums all they're cracked up to be?

Which vacuum works best with dog hair?

I have a Kenmore Canister and I think it's great! When the guy demonstrated it to me he threw some cat litter on the floor, just what I wanted to use it for. Also pet hair. I used uprights, Dirt Devil, Hoovers, some other brand that I've blocked out and have found my canister to be the best so far. The only one I think that can beat it is an Electrolux. Those are awe$ome.

Which vacuum works best with dog hair?

I would guess that Dyson vacuums would be the best bet for you. They don't lose suction, and don't let the hair back into the air. To help even more, try a dog comb that gets the undercoat of the dog's fur, for there wouldn't be as much to vacuum up, so you wouldn't have to vacuum as much!

Which vacuum works best with dog hair?

Hi first you want to just buy yourself a course sponge.

And slightly dampen it %26amp; then wipe down the sofa, the pillows, rugs, etc.

Keep that sponge around %26amp; then use a good quality vaccum that has a brush, a rolling brush on the roller part that runs over the rugs. You want/need that rolling brush to pull up leftover hair.

HOwever a vaccum isn't going to be useful to you in total, you'll need the sponge to keep your vaccum healthy overall.

Which vacuum works best with dog hair?

I have a older Fantom Thunder and it works really well, I have two Great Danes and a Dachshund, my son has a Dyson and he says it is a piece of crap for the price, but maybe he just got a lemon!

How can i get dog hair out of my car?

i have blue seats in my car and i have dog hair on my seats that wont come off. it is stuck in the material of my seats how can i get it out?

How can i get dog hair out of my car?

I use a spray first call Static guard. It releases the static cling of the dog hair and then I can vacumm it up much easier. It can be found where they have laundy supplies at WalMart.

How can i get dog hair out of my car?

It also does a great job for the cushions inside your home too! Report It

How can i get dog hair out of my car?

use a soft bristle brush and brush it up then use a high powered vacum

How can i get dog hair out of my car?

Take a long, wide piece of tape (like masking or duct tape) and use it like a lint roller; or get a lint roller.

How can i get dog hair out of my car?

Along with using a brush and vacuum, you could also rub a fabric softener sheet on the fabric to reduce static electricity and make the hair come up easier.

How can i get dog hair out of my car?

there has been dog hair in our car to. what we do is get a special dog brush that has wire hairs and brush out your car.or what helps is a portable vacume

How can i get dog hair out of my car?

A rubber curry brush will help to loosen it so you can vacuum it up.

How can i get dog hair out of my car?

WEll I have ALOT of dog hair in the car 2 and i am tring 2 get them out myself but I think i will tell u how I am going 2 do it.well i am going 2 try 2 scrape most of the dogs hair with my on finger then I will get a vaccum cleaner then scrape some more then I will get a strong tape 2 stick them out then again w/ the scraping and hope that it is clean and put perfume.

How can i get dog hair out of my car?

I have three newfoundlands, so I get dog hair everywhere. They bast thing that I have found is Arm and Hammer Pet Fresh. Its a foam spray that dries on its own in just a few minutes. Then you vaccuum it up. It has a special Pet Hair Release that takes the static off the hair and it easily comes up when you vaccuum. Plus it leaves a very pleasant smell. I actually spray it every day to keep the "dog" smell out of my house and car.

Sick of brushing up dog hair. How do we feel about the Dyson?

I have an alaskan malamute that sheds 24/7/365. I currently use one of those rubber brushes to get the dog hair out of my carpets. Its a lot of work...time consuming...exhausting. Want to get an amazing vacuum to do the same amount of work, but want to be sure before I spend the money. What do you think?

Sick of brushing up dog hair. How do we feel about the Dyson?

I have a husky, so I know all about the hair problem. I find that combing him instead of brushing works a lot better and I try to comb him a couple of times a week and vacuum a couple of times a week. Get the latest Consumer Reports Buying Guide

at a bookstore, just make sure it covers vacuums. The more amps the vacuum has the better.

Sick of brushing up dog hair. How do we feel about the Dyson?

My friend swears by hers. But they are loud and expensive and now competitors have come up with alternatives.

Stop by your library and ask the librarian to help you look them up on Consumer Reports. That should help with your decision.

Good Luck!!! :)

Sick of brushing up dog hair. How do we feel about the Dyson?

Okay, what you need to do is get a nice carpet rake. They can be found at any janitorial store that specializes in carpet cleaning. You might even be able to get one from a local home improvement store.

Ugh!, you say?

Now don't get me wrong, I love animals, but if you are going to have them then be prepared to do the work.

I am a vacuum cleaner expert. Dyson is just another vacuum. Yes, I'm telling the flat out truth. They CAN and DO clog. Any vacuum will clog, just as any dam will clog. The sad part is this- a Dyson will clog FASTER if there is a restriction in the hose. Why? Simple: there is MORE suction.

Now another thing. What you DON'T want if you are dealing with organics ( which dog hair IS) is prolonged use of a vacuum which tauts itself as being a virtual maintainence-free system. No no no! What you will end up with is disappointment. Now even though the Dyson design utilizes basically little or no filtration that would impede vacuum ( that's right-VACUUM, not 'airflow' [ by my observation they might have mastered some sort of vacuum "trick", but the Hoover Windtunnel concoured the real issue- AIRFLOW).

Okay, so not to lose you, let me first explain briefly that more goes on in a vacuum cleaner that just high suction. SO much more, but for all intents and purposes here, what you really need is a vacuum that is easy to maintain, but is also easy to control odors too. I give you 2 choices. These are the two that have proven themselves time and time again when it comes to pets... well, actually 3 choices.

1-Filterqueen ( older is good, the newer Majestic is A++)

2-Electrolux ( Older is good, but get a LONG BODIED CANISTER regardless. You want to change those bags darn near every use, and what more economical vacuum to do it with. You can get 100 electrolux bags for about 20 bucks! They are the same bag they've made for 50 years...this is why I say a long bodied model...I have no idea what Electrolux is producing as far as uprights and multifiltered canisters, but DON"T get one!!!!!!!! Get ONLY a long bodied model such as a Regency

3-Rainbow D4, or D4se ( same thing, they just put a trigger on the handle for turning the powerwand off and on)

Okay, okay, so by now you might have caught on that this guy (me) only wants to push canisters on to people. NO- I only want to push them onto people with PETS. I have my reasons, but even if you despise canisters, I promise, if you give them just one more try, baring in mind that you are gaining a much more sanitary environment for your family and yourself, you will soon understand how much more practicle they can be.

Rule of thumb:

Always hold the vacuum with the hose going laterally behind you. That is- hold the 'tank' in one hand, or set down to one side of you, and then allow the hose to stretch behind you and go over to your other hand that holds either the vacuum powerhead-wand, or hand-tool. Once you master this, you soon realize that you can cover about 3 times MORE area in the time it takes to push aroud an upright.

Lastly, I am partial to these three vacuums because I am considering the ample times over one uses hand-tools as compared to uprights.

Now, if after all of this you still are not convinced then at the very least, go to your furnace filter section at your local home improvement store and purchase for less that $3, a 10-pack of electrostatic furnace register-vent filters. These filters measure about 11 inches by 4 inches, and there are 10 of them. This media is IDENTICAL in it's properties to attract and keep dust and other small debree from entering the atmosphere, but at a fraction of the price of OEM filters.

FILTERS ARE WASHABLE!!! DON"T BE A FOOL AND RUN OUT AND BUY A NEW FILTER FOR YOUR BAGLESS BECAUSE YOU ARE AFRAID TO GET DIRTY. IF THAT"S THE CASE THEN BUY A BAG MODEL VACUUM CLEANER- WHEN YOU CHANGE THE BAG YOU GET A NEW FILTER BECAUSE THE BAG ISSSS THE FILTER!

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

We are building a house and they sprayed the cement with sealent, (tar) and our dog's tail is now covered. (i was watching him, but you know dogs) My dad said gasoline, but i don't like that sound of that. I tried dish soap and some came off. I'll have to cut most of the hair I know! It's on his skin too, is it going to give him a chemical burn?

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Use some 91% isopropyl alcohol. You could even use some kerosene, it's not as harmful as gasoline. People used to put kerosene on wounds. Be sure to follow with soap, so that he doesn't lick it.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Sam's club sells a great degreaser.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

chop his tail off

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Cut the hair.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Clippers

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Unfortuanately, you're going to have to cut the hair, i think that the tar might stick on your dog for a long time though, it will solidify, so it might just begin to crack and fall off naturally as well.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

turpentine.......

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Do not use gasoline. Try cutting it off. Call your vet

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Try something like WD-40, or lighter fluid. I know it sounds harsh but it works. Just be sure to bathe the dog after, no harm, no foul.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Hes on the right track. Diesel. there are plenty of solvents u could try Dmso but u need to wash the dog when u are through with the chemical. They should not be injested.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

you can use mineral oil tons of it.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

try Vaseline. if it doesn't work, try dabbing a bit of gasoline on a towel and working it directly on the fur that has the tar on it. don't use in excess, don't get any on his skin and wash him right away.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Cut the hair off, the tar wont come off for a long long time.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

i had a dog that rolled in tar. crazy dog. anyway, we let her hair grow alittle and then cut out what we could. after several months, it was completely gone. i don't agree with the gasoline option either. too risky.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Honey, all you need is some crisco or anything oily . Just rub it in real good let it stay on for few minutes and it will come out,.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

hi starryhalo22,

theres materials like WD-40 if you ever heard of that or theres paint thinner.gasoline wont hurt him if you put some on and then flush his tail alot. i recommend paint thinner.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Do not use kerosene, gasoline or anything else to try to remove the tar. Your only option is to shave the dog. I've been a groomer for years, and I'm telling you there is nothing else you can do. Call a groomer and get an appointment for the dog right away. The hair will grow back before you know it. NOTHING will remove it. NOTHING!! I've seen it lots of times over the years. And if you don't do somthing about it soon, your dog is going to get a severe irrititation from the tar. The hair will start matting where the tar is, pinch the skin together and form hemotoma's. Nice vet bill. Get the dog shaved as soon as possible. Good luck.

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

I am pretty sure I would steer clear of gasoline. I think if it is just his hair easiest is to cut it off, but on his skin? Not so sure, I think I would call and ask a vet. wouldnt want to get that dog of your sick!

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

Believe it or not...peanut butter. Work it in well and wipe as you go. IT WORKS!!!...for bubble gum too!

How to remove tar from dog hair.?

shave it

My son suffers from allergies so I have to make sure is room is dust free and the Dyson makes sure of that . DYSON

Which hoover/vacuum to pick up dog hair (uk)?

There was a very good one advertised on one of the shopping channels the other night. I think it was Best Direct. You could try their website. It was very lightweight over the shoulder model and had something called a hair snagger attachment. It was reasonably priced too only 鎷?9.99. Sorry can't tell you much more about it. Don't need one myself so didn't pay much attention. Know what you mean about German Shepherd hair though(used to ave one) they are like needles and work their way in everywhere.

Which hoover/vacuum to pick up dog hair (uk)?

Dyson. I have a Newfoundland with a long, double coat and had to have something designed for long pet hair without getting clogged. It is expensive though so I asked family members to pitch in for Christmas and I added to it.

The Dyson 'Animal' is marketed to pet owners and is about $700, but I have the entry-level Dyson and it is the same thing just missing one attachment (and it's a different color). It really works just as well.

Which hoover/vacuum to pick up dog hair (uk)?

I've got a couple of dogs and the hair on the carpet drives me mad. I bought a Dyson Animal, it's purple. It did the job fairly well but did break down after 18 months. Since then I bought the cheapest Dyson I could find and it does the job just as well.

Which hoover/vacuum to pick up dog hair (uk)?

I have a Welsh Springer, invest in a Henry Hoover you won't regret it, honest!

Which hoover/vacuum to pick up dog hair (uk)?

Correct answer goes to Heather (and me, naturally). I have had two different Dysons and they both sucked... but not in the way they were supposed to! The only thing that does suck are all you people that have been sucked in by the hype surrounding them. There is no way that any Dyson has the suction power of a little Henry Hoover from Pneumatic. It's what I have and wouldn't swap it for any other make.

Which hoover/vacuum to pick up dog hair (uk)?

Dyson animal DC17

Which hoover/vacuum to pick up dog hair (uk)?

dyson animal is the best by far

How do I get all this dog hair off my comforter/couch?

First of all, I'll start by saying that I vaccuum EVERY DAY. And it is getting frustrating since my job has been giving me more hours. Plus, after I vaccuum the couch, it seems like I barely cleaned! It's micro suede, I don't know if that helps to know... And as far as the comforter goes, everyone is telling me to just lock my dog out of my room when I go to sleep. But I don't have the heart to do that because she whimpers at the door and I can't bear it.

Anyway, I have seen this baking powder stuff in the store that claims to remove the static cling from pet hair so it vaccuums up easier. Has anyone tried this and does it work? Does anyone know any other tricks for pet hair? Especially with my comforter, I'm getting tired of having it dry cleaned every 2 weeks!!

and ps- before all you sarcastic people start answering, i will not get rid of my dog, i will not keep her outside, and i will prefer to not lock her out of my bedroom when i am in there.

How do I get all this dog hair off my comforter/couch?

DUCT TAPE.

It works!!

How do I get all this dog hair off my comforter/couch?

I have 4 dogs, I know how frustrating this issue can be! You can try the lint roller approach, takes some time and loses its stickiness too fast though I find. Duct tape seems to be the one that works best for me, same idea as the lint roller, but much stickier and more effective.

I also have found that the powder stuff works decent for my carpet, but have never tried on my couch. As far as your comforter, takin it outside and giving it a good shake down is the only thing I can think of! Hope I was of some help! Good luck.

How do I get all this dog hair off my comforter/couch?

Hello,

I use packing tape. Make a loop of tape around your hand then touch it to the couch/comforter. It will pick up loose lint and pet hair.

How do I get all this dog hair off my comforter/couch?

Life it too short for you to be stressing out over fur. Some of it you may just need to learn to live with. You may need to get a better vacuum cleaner, too if it's not doing the job. Not all vacuums are created the same. If your dog will allow it, use the vacuum's attachments and suck the loose fur off her. Brush your dog daily to cut down on shedding throughout the house. There are all sorts of grooming tools which will help cut down the hair as well. Since I have no idea what kind of dog you have, I can't venture a guess as to which one(s) would work best for you. It'll be good for both of you. Brushing a dog is a great stress reliever and a great bonding activity.

On one of my yahoo groups, a lady reported that her kid used a lint roller (adhesive kind) over the dog's fur and picked up a lot of loose hair that way. I've never tried it myself.

As for the comforter problem, place a sheet over it. The hair will be on it and not the comforter. The better solution is buy a comforter you can wash as needed. I know the other one looks nicer, but sometimes compromises need to be made. Put the nice one out only when you're expecting guests.

As for the dog on the comforter while you are sleeping under it, have you considered crate training or getting her a pet bed to put beside yours? Something else to consider. That way she's in her own place and not in yours. You may have to endure a few days of whining, but the end results will make both of you happier.

For the microsuede couch (and your carpets), try the lint rollers and the larger adhesive pads. They work wonders on velvet (just ask me how I know!) Once you get the fur off, cover it with a sheet to protect the surface and remove it only when you're expecting guests.

As for the powder stuff, it sometimes leaves a residue which is harder to get off than the fur. I 'd never use it on my velvet! I doubt you'd want to on the suede.

How do I get all this dog hair off my comforter/couch?

It could be worse. Come to my house, I own three Saint Bernards...Lets talk hair. Do you know they can put it on the ceiling? Mine do. I have found hair in my attic and they have NEVER been up there. My dryer vent screams for help. Everyone in my family carries their own lint roller around. And wearing black is a joke. Have you ever seen those sunbeams coming in your house filled with dust? I could do a slide show with mine. I've learned to live with it. I just tell people I am the proud owner of a hair factory in mass production.

Next segment we can discuss DROOL????? Ewwwwwww

How do I get all this dog hair off my comforter/couch?

Try wetting your hand and run it over your couch. The hair will come right up. I don't use tape because I feel it leaves a sticky residue.

On my bed I have a washable comforter that fits in the washing machine. I deliberately didn't buy a comforter that was overstuffed or had to be dry cleaned.

Try the furmigator for brushing your dog.

How to remove dog hair in wool coat?

What is the best way to get dog hair out of my wool coat. Some of it seemd imbedded in there!

How to remove dog hair in wool coat?

You can use tape, a rubber glove, or a sponge.

For tape, wrap some tape around your hand and use it like one of those sticky lint rollers.

Rubber glove, such as one used for cleaning. Wet the glove with water and rub it over the coat. The rubber will attract the hair and pull it off.

Sponge--Slightly wet a sponge-damp not soaking. Rub it over the coat. It should collect the hair.

How to remove dog hair in wool coat?

I know what you mean. I have a huskie and at times, his hair loss is ridiculous.

I use the thick Scotch tape and just go over the coat with it. Most of the hair is picked up by the tape.

Best of luck to you.

Justme is right...and you can use an eyebrow tweezer to get out the really tough ones.

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

I have a Bischon Frise and im wondering if its better to wash my dog then cut her hair or cut her hair then wash her......

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

I'm going to let you know one thing....if you plan to cut your dogs hair....be very CARE FULL !!

I can tell you many horror stories from owners that come to the clinic I work at, when owners cut their dogs hair.

one owner cut a small piece of the dogs tongue off,

another cut part of an ear off...

and the list goes on.......

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

I would cut first, then wash and blow dry, finishing with any little bits your missed.

If your dog is filthy I would wash first =P any huge matts need to come our first though.

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

after - cause it's softer and easier to groom

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

You should probably wash the dog first. Then the knots are easier to get out because they are wet.

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

First, tell me what a Bischon Frise is.

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

i would wash and blowdry first before cutting because it would be more easier to cut the fur

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

cut her hair then wash her

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

Buy a shaver to help you with this problem, and if you have knots, get rid of them first because you won't get a proper bath in but do what you have to depending on the dog's dirt. never use scissors! The dog may flinch or jump and you may cut it seriously. A shaver please. And that cannot be done while the dog s wet, electricution is a possibility to both you and dog.

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

wash first then dry than cut.i do that to my dog 2..

Is it better to cut your dogs hair before you wash the dog or after?

cut first. washing will make any mats worse.

What exactly is dog dander? Can breed or length of hair effect ones allergies?

I'm told that one is not allergic to dog hair, but to their dander. What exactly is that, and does it vary with the breed. My dog is short haired, and doesn't affect me much, but I've known 3 Golden Retrievers at different times and locations that have really set me off. I'm wondering if the hair was cut short, would that improve things for me, or wouldn't that matter. Thanks.

What exactly is dog dander? Can breed or length of hair effect ones allergies?

Dander is dried saliva and skin that falls of the dogs body, often it is attached to their hair. I hear that non-shedding varieties like Lhasa apsos tend to not be nearly as bad for it but there is still some effect.

What exactly is dog dander? Can breed or length of hair effect ones allergies?

Dog dander is little flakes of dead skin, I belive. All dogs have dander. The coat length has nothing to do with it. Longer haired dogs are usually groomed more, so that helps remove the dander. Don't belive anyone that tells you that certain breeds are "hypoallegenic". They don't know what they are talking about. You may have become immune to your own dog's dander or maybe you have good hygene for him. Talk to you allergist about certain medications you can take to help with the allergies. :)

What exactly is dog dander? Can breed or length of hair effect ones allergies?

You are correct that most poeple are allergic to the dander and not the hair. If your dog is groomed often then the dander is washed off each time. Maybe the Goldens had not been bathed recently. People who say they have hypoallergenic dogs and dogs that do not shed are kidding themselves. All dogs have dander and all dogs shed. Poodles and Schnauzer owners claim this alot, but it is just because they have their dogs groomed enough that the groomer gets all of the dead hair and dander off. Hope this helps!

Do deep cleaning vacuums pick up dog hair?

Hello, I am in the market for a Bissell ProHeat 2X deep cleaning vacuum, but I read somewhere that deep cleaning vacuums only suck up the water/solution and that they do not pick up dog hair. I have a dog and the hair is what really needs to be vacuumed up, but I assumed that a deep cleaning vacuum would pick it up as well as "steam" the carpet. Does anyone know about this?

Do deep cleaning vacuums pick up dog hair?

i have the machine in question. and yes, it does pull any hair to the surface. occasionally clumps of hair would show up on the "clean" floor, and i would just pick it up and throw it away. then go over the area with one more quick pass. the machine is very good. if you use it regularly you will not need the "pros" to come in.

Do deep cleaning vacuums pick up dog hair?

Go to the Dollar Stores and find those cheap lint brushes..... usually only cost a $1

and they pick up dog hair greattttttttttt

much less frustrating than having to drag out a vaccuum that barely touches it

Do deep cleaning vacuums pick up dog hair?

Get a Dyson !!!!. They're more expensive, but totally worth it. I bought a DC17 "Animal" Model about 6 months ago and I absolutely love it!! I have a shedding dog as well, and after I vacuumed with the Dyson I got down on my hands and knees and there wasn't one hair left. It looks like brand new carpeting every time I vacuum.

They go for around $500, but sometimes you can get a 20% coupon in the mail from Bed Bath %26amp; Beyond (If there is one near you) and it will save you around $100.

They are supposed to last forever as long as you take care of it. I will never buy another brand.

Do deep cleaning vacuums pick up dog hair?

Always vacuum up the hair with a good "dry" vacuum ( the kind that has a rotating brush) Look for a rug cleaner that has a brush too. otherwise the hair just makes long stringy mats on your carpet and in the rug shampooer.

Do deep cleaning vacuums pick up dog hair?

No. Well, it will. But it will mkae it wet and stay in a bunch on the carpet. And you will have to pick it up.

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

I have two beagles and wearing black and/or sweaters without dog hair is impossible. Is there a way to prevent it on my clothes. Not looking for dog shedding tips please :)

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

Hmm. I don't know of any ways to prevent it, but you can get a lint roller from the store for like, a dollar or two and just roll it on your clothes before leaving the house. My parents' have two golden retrievers who shed ALL the time and whenever we go over there we get covered in hair... They have lint rollers to use before going out.

If you let the dogs on the furniture, stop. That will help. Other than that, get lots of lint rollers....

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

I really dont think there is a way to stop it from getting on your clothes, primarily because its everywhere. One tip I can give you is to buy a lint roller and roll it over your clothes before you go out the hair will stick to its surface. Of course if your dogs ride in your vehicle that wont work either.

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

dry your clothes with bounce dryer sheets, it really does help to keep the hair off.

other than that go with a good lint brush, regular or sticky.

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

Outside of those fantastic little rollers for getting it off there really isn't much you can do. I mean you probably already know the shedding tips of brushing daily and all that. Yeah, being a dog/cat owner kinda leaves you marked for life... with fur.

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

Hello,

Only way is to get rid of the dogs and have a professional cleaner come in and clean. Actually call them back every month for at least six months and hopefully that gets out all the hair.

One of our dogs drools all over the place, yuk! He will shake his head when company is over just to see there reaction and I swear he is laughing!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of dog ownership....

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

Lint rollers or masking tape wrapped around your hand will remove the hair. You can't really prevent it unless you completely avoid your dogs or get rid of them, but I doubt you want to do that.

Put your work clothes/going out clothes on right before you leave the house.

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

Wear clothes the color of the dogs. Don't let the dogs on the furniture.

Sometimes a tumble with the clothes on no heat in the dryer works.

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

Fabric softener helps some, but a sticky roller thing is *priceless*.

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

You cant... idiot.

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

Use bounce dryer sheets that says "repel lint and hair" after you wash your clothes and the washer is filling up with rinse water drop one of the sheets in the rinse water and when you put them in the dryer put a new sheet in the dryer with the clothes. you will have to do this each time you wash the clothes .this is not a one time thing.

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

There is no way to prevent it. Just have lint roller that is the only way.

How can i prevent dog hair on my clothes?

the only way to prevent having dog hair on your clothes is to not have a dog

How can I clean dog hair off of everything in my home?

Try a link brush or a very powerful vacuum

How can I clean dog hair off of everything in my home?

Vacuum like crazy! Also try air filters. You're not allergic to your dog, but probably dog hair and dander. After vacuuming, ait filters will help purify your air. You won't ever get ALL of it out of your house, but probably 95%. Good luck to you!

How can I clean dog hair off of everything in my home?

you won't. trust me. however much you get out, there's still tons of it in the ac vents, in the carpet, in all those nooks and crannies in your house. I have Dyson vaccum. works great at sucking up dirt and hair. once done with the whole house, if you vacuumed the same area again the next day, you'll get more hair and dust. either get used to it or get rid of the dog. you'll never be able to get rid of ALL of it.

How can I clean dog hair off of everything in my home?

Thorough vaccuuming and dusting, and most vaccuums have an upholstery attachment for the hose that you can use to get the dog hair and dander off the furniture.

How can I clean dog hair off of everything in my home?

Vacuum, vacuum, and vacuum. If you don't have a good vacuum, go buy one. You don't need a $500 dyson (mixed feelings on these vacs), but if you're using a 1990's vacuum, you may consider upgrading. Then, get a good carpet cleaner in there to clean the carpets. Make sure they DRY vacuum before they clean the carpets (all good cleaners should do this, many don't as a cost saving step for themselves). You can visit www.IICRC.com as a reference to find good companies in your area. Also, wipe down all the walls (swiffers work well for this). Sweep and mop all hard surface floors. May want to consider getting someone out to clean out your airducts too. Some carpet cleaners offer this service as well and many of the duct cleaning companies have cameras that they can stick down the vents to verify whether you need them cleaned or not, and also they can do it after to show the results. If the dog was on the furniture, you may want to consider getting any pieces that the dog frequented professionally cleaned as well.

Air filter for cleaning dog hair out of my house air?? is there one read below?

Hi, I am not a neat freak, and I am selling fabrics on ebay now and when I go to iron them there are dog hairs, a few and lint on them. Is there some kind of air filter I can operate/buy to clean/filter the air as it circulates so it kind of removes this hair before it settles on the fabrics ?? and what is it called and where do I get it and how expensive is it and if I knew what it was called I could search Also fixed income here, so best least expensive way thanks so much for all of the help I get on here

Air filter for cleaning dog hair out of my house air?? is there one read below?

That is going to be real difficult to do, being most homes have one air intake, and to direct the hair and lint to that direction is difficult.

The key is to brush your dog/dogs every day to help ease the shedding problem.

We have a filter and it was about $35. We bought it years ago at Home Depot and it is a heavy duty, one that traps small particles like hair. It can be washed with a garden hose, which I do once a week being I have three dogs.

Vacuum frequently and dust. It should help.
