Want a use for all that shedded dog hair?

Want a use for all that shedded dog hair?

Do you want to hear about a unique way to use dog hair?

There was a guy I worked with and his parents bred Samoyed's, a big long haired white dog. He said his mom would take all the hair after brushing the dogs and spin into yarn and knit it to make sweaters from it.

What is the best way to remove dog hair?

How do I get rid of dog hair off clothes and floors. I vaccuum constantly and tried swifters, mops. I also tried every lint brush that i can find for the clothes but the little pests just won't go away. Any ideas? Anyone?

What is the best way to remove dog hair?

For a lint brush, the best one I found is the blue rubbery substance one. You just wet it and it dry if off. When it gets semi-dry it gets sticky. Then run it over your clothes. To remove the hair, just wet it and the hair slides right off.

What is the best way to remove dog hair?

there is an undercoat removing brush at petsmart that will solve the problem

be prepared it is expensive

What is the best way to remove dog hair?

well, my little maltese puppy had fleas and we just cut it.

What is the best way to remove dog hair?

A lint roller or duct tape might be a good idea.

Good luck!

What is the best way to remove dog hair?

I had both of my Labs hair cut short twice last year and It helped considerably with all the hair all over the house. I also brush them everyday now and life is much easier for me.

What is the best way to remove dog hair?

try using a hair brush much cheaper than vacuums, it does take time but its worth it..

or try using tape...

How do I get the fuzz and dog hair off my Patagonia fleece??

One of my favorite cold weather items is my black Patagonia fleece pullover...but i can't even tell it's black anymore!! It is covered in dog hair (I have 2...both white) and it's "pilling" or whatever that's called when it gets those awful balls on it. I have tried washing it, but lucky me it doesn't seem to work...using those sticky tape rollers to pull the fuzz off doesn't seem to work for the extreme amount that's on my jacket. Hellllppppp!!!!!

How do I get the fuzz and dog hair off my Patagonia fleece??

The sticky tape roller will work eventuallyfor the hair, you'll just have to use a lot of it. I've heard, but never tried, that you can use a single-blade, disposable razor to get those pills off, as long as you are careful.

How do I get the fuzz and dog hair off my Patagonia fleece??

I had the same problem- the only solution was to wear it inside out. and from then on always wash it with the "good" side inside. My white cat solved the problem by chewing the zipper beyond repair- so it turned into a cat bed liner.

How do I get the fuzz and dog hair off my Patagonia fleece??

Use a razor on it

Can someone please suggest a good way to get dog hair out of blankets.?

I have a rotweiler and there is dog hair in my blankets I have tried just washing them and hosing them down. Apart from picking them out hair by hair I have run out of ideas? Please help as I dont want to throw the blankets out.

Can someone please suggest a good way to get dog hair out of blankets.?

Put the blanket in a large commercial dryer, with 4 dryer sheets. Set on low heat, and dry for about 40 minutes.

Can someone please suggest a good way to get dog hair out of blankets.?

Can someone please suggest a good way to get dog hair out of blankets.?

Can someone please suggest a good way to get dog hair out of blankets.?

Try a lint brush or masking tape(double sided if you can find it if not take a good size peic and wrap it around your hand and blot the blanket you may need several pieces). Good Luck

Can someone please suggest a good way to get dog hair out of blankets.?

Get rid of your Dog! before he bites someone! Rotweilers will only get you in trouble, and then you end up in a lawsuit, Throw your blankets away and buy a new dog. It will be less expensive, Trust me, I'm a dog lover but Rotweilers, and Pit Bulls will only cost you more money than they are worth.Buy a Lab, they are very protective, but smarter than a rotweiler.

Can someone please suggest a good way to get dog hair out of blankets.?

yeah buy a lab cos they dont drop any hair ah, ha ha ha spanker

Can someone please suggest a good way to get dog hair out of blankets.?

Duct tape works good...just make it into a loop and slide it over your fingertips then pat the blanket to get the hairs up..it might take several pieces

What can I use to remove dog hair from everywhere?

I have dog hair everywhere and I vaccum everyday and it goes into the bathroom and in the bath.

What can I use to remove dog hair from everywhere?

Groom your pet often.

Vacuum, dust (especially high areas or behind/around furniture) and then vacuum again.

Change your furnace filters often too.

You'll never get rid of it all, just one of the joys of having a pet :) I have a lint roller in every room of the house.

What can I use to remove dog hair from everywhere?

backwards wind tape around your hand to make a sticky pad....

What can I use to remove dog hair from everywhere?

haha ok I've got the same problem. i keep lint rollers everywhere. they help remove the dog hair from a lot of things

What can I use to remove dog hair from everywhere?

brush your dog more (outside) and it wont shed half as much in your house

What can I use to remove dog hair from everywhere?

You could try grooming your dog more often. I do love my swiffer sweeper/vac. Otherwise, it is just one of the things you gotta live with when you are a pet owner. I always said cat hair was a condiment in my house.

What can I use to remove dog hair from everywhere?

There really is no way of getting around it because I have two golden retrievers that I call my "hair machines." Brushing your dog everyday helps a lot. good luck!

What can I use to remove dog hair from everywhere?

I have a cat that leaves hair everywhere too. I went to the pet store or even the grocery store in the pet dept and bought a special sponge for pet hair. You don't wet it, just use it dry and it works wonders. For the very fine stuff, I use a lint brush to finish up with. Hope that helps.

What can I use to remove dog hair from everywhere?

Groom that dog, and brush excess hair outside. Finally, limit his space in the house so hair will not end up in you food.

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

i have 3dogs and its a pain to get the dog hair of my clothes and i was woundering if there is any way to get the dog hair off.

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

A lint roller is best never use tape especially on formal wear.

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

a flame thrower?

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

I have used tape it works pretty good if you don't have a lint brush.

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

Hi I have 3 dogs too but my lab sheds the worst. What I do is I bought one of those rollers that have the tape on it and just roll it down my clothes. My son did that with his work clothes also. For me that works okay or you can take your sweeper with an attachment to go down your clothes but I mostly use the tape roller . Good luck

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

A lint roller

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

Go to Walgreens or Wal-mart and buy a lint roller, plus extra rolls. I have found that the kind with tape work better then the kind you have to use soap and water to get the hair off.

And they're more expensive at pet stores then they are at Walgreens or Wal-mart.

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

I have a 3m pet ling roller from wal mart that seems to do the trick. I usually will shake my clothes, and use the roller on the remaining hair. To eliminate the problem, well at least minimize it, be sure to vaccum daily, this will keep some of the loose hair out of carpet in furniture. Along those lines be sure to brush your dog daily, as they shed and lose hair, in your home, if you brush them outside or in a designated room (when its cold out) this will help with the loose hair problem, it will be on your brush and in the room or outside, instead of on your things.

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

Try Duct tape..it pick up the hair really well.

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

Buy one of those sticky roller things. I think they're called lint catchers or something. They're basically sticky tape on a rol that you roll over any surface and it picks up whatever is not supposed to be their (ie. lint, dirt and hair) You can find them at the grocery store or even at the dollar store sometimes.

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

Gently wipe off with warm damp cloth

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

Besides a lint roller i don't think u have many options. try brushing your dogs more often so they don't shed so much. Also use a bunch of dryer sheets instead of just one, this helps prevent static cling better, especially in the winter.

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

My dogs are confines to my living room, kitchen and their out door area. They have a doggie door. I do not allow them in my bedroom or laundry area. That helps keep the hair down some. Since I have several large heavy shedding type dogs, I keep one of those hair rollers in my car also, duct tape is good.Just roll some around your hand backwards and dab your clothes to remove it.

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

i throw mine in to the dryer on cool for a minute or two

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

u could use a lint roller or if you havnt got one you could wrap cello tape round your hand (backwards) and brush away or wet/dampen your hands and wipe away

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

Use a lint roller./brush... if you dont have one then try some sellotape, that works quite well if you are only removing furr from a small area otherwise it can take a long time to get it all up with this method.

Some Vacuum Cleaners have a pet hair suction on them, (mine does) and we use that to get the rabbit furr off our clothes!

Good Luck

What is the easiest ways to get rid of dog hair off of clothes?

A lint roller !! I use the same thing for mine !!! You can buy them from walmart there like 3.00

A coworker of mine recently got his hair done simular in the dog the bounty hunter fashion?

A coworker of mine recently got his hair done simular in the dog the bounty hunter fashion?

Just come right out and tell him how bad it looks and that people are making fun of him.

A coworker of mine recently got his hair done simular in the dog the bounty hunter fashion?

tell him how stupid you think it looks.Id love to take a crack at this guy.Does he think he is as tough as the Dog.I'd love to see the DOG get beat down.I bet you wouldn't see that on his show. And don't even get me started on his wife.

A coworker of mine recently got his hair done simular in the dog the bounty hunter fashion?

It seems everyone else made it clear to him and they werent very polite about it. You should just walk up to him and explain as casualy as possible why without trying to sugar coat it or sounding too mean

A coworker of mine recently got his hair done simular in the dog the bounty hunter fashion?

Search "mullet haircut" on the web and see what results you get. You're bound to read some stuff that would make for plenty of good reasons for this guy to get back to the hairdresser and into the 21st century with his sense of style. Maybe he fancies himself as some sort of detective or whatnot...who knows?

A coworker of mine recently got his hair done simular in the dog the bounty hunter fashion?

maybe he's getting ready for halloween

Is there some type of vacuum hair right off the dog rather than brushing??

I have a masteefe and she sheds alot. Is there some type of vacuum that gets the hair before its on the carpet. Like some type of low power vacuum that you can just like vacuum the dog hair like a brush but it sucks.

Is there some type of vacuum hair right off the dog rather than brushing??

It is called a pet-vac. here is the web site

Is there some type of vacuum hair right off the dog rather than brushing??

nooo

Is there some type of vacuum hair right off the dog rather than brushing??

I use my vacuum on my rottweilers regularly. I use the wand attachment with the brush. They seem to enjoy it, but it took awhile to get them comfortable with the idea... It seems to help some.

Is there some type of vacuum hair right off the dog rather than brushing??

I had a Chow Chow who loved being vacuumed. Whenever we got the vac out for the carpets, he'd come right up to me and sit in front of me. As I moved around the house, vacuuming, he'd follow me around until I attached the handheld brush to the hose, and "brushed" him with it. It worked well, because the brush attachment brushed out his fur, but since it was attached to the vacuum, it also sucked the hair away. I think he liked it because it kinda massaged his skin...

Why do people want to drink Dog hair?

when your hungover why do people say to drink a glass of dog hair? i dont understand how that can help.

Why do people want to drink Dog hair?

You don't drink dog hair,its just a saying,its

Hair of the dog, it means drink a glass of what you was drinking the night before and it should get rid of the Hangover!!!!!!.

Why do people want to drink Dog hair?

It means " hair of the dog that bit them" which means they need to drink a little alcohol to get rid of a hang over

Why do people want to drink Dog hair?

On the slim chance that you are being serious.

It is a metaphor. You are hungover, like as if alcohol was a dog and now it has bitten you (the hangover).

So to clear it you take just a little bit more alcohol, that is just a bit more of the dog that bit you. A bit of a dog? A hair is a small bit of a dog.

Why do people want to drink Dog hair?

The correct expression is Hair of the Dog, meaning have a little of the dog that bit you. If you drank too much have a little more and it will make you feel better. A little like homoeopathy, they practice that if something has poisioned you have a little more and it will put things right.

Why do people want to drink Dog hair?

its not dog hair its hair of the dog its a saying that if you have a hangover drink a glass beer/cider/lager its suppose to get rid of your hangover and set you up for the day if that don't help 2 paracetamol

Why do people want to drink Dog hair?

It's "Hair of the Dog"

"In Scotland it is a popular belief that a few hairs of the dog that bit you applied to the wound will prevent evil consequences. Applied to drinks, it means, if overnight you have indulged too freely, take a glass of the same wine next morning to soothe the nerves. 'If this dog do you bite, soon as out of your bed, take a hair of the tail in the morning.'"

Why do people want to drink Dog hair?

Hair of the dog!!! best hair of the dog that i have ever found is a large cold glass of cider. I don't normally drink cider, but for a hangover nothing beats it!!!!

What should I use to clean up dog hair on my hard floors?

In the kitchen we have laminate flooring and it's so hard to get the dog hair up! When you sweep or vacuum it just makes the hair fly in all directions and there has to be a cleaning tool for this! Any suggestions?

What should I use to clean up dog hair on my hard floors?

I used a dry mop and some spray that is sold by the furniture polishes. It doesnt leave anything behind, just spray some on the mop head and dust and hair sticks. Or I bet you could use it on a swiffer or a piece of used fabric such as an old t-shirt in place of a swiffer sheet.

What should I use to clean up dog hair on my hard floors?

Use the swiffer sweeper or any thing similar..For a large room try one of those janitor size brooms...You need to create some sort of static which will cause the dog hair to be picked up.Has to be a PUSH type because it won't cause wind to make the hair fly every where..

What should I use to clean up dog hair on my hard floors?

Have you tried a swiffer? or a just a wet mop?

What should I use to clean up dog hair on my hard floors?

What should I use to clean up dog hair on my hard floors?

The Fashion Industry wants to use real dog hair for coats????

*Tom L,,you are soooo WRONG.

The Fashion Industry wants to use real dog hair for coats????

Yes, I've seen a few stories on this too. In some manufacturing countries (largely in Asia) they have been labeling dog fur and other animal fur as fake and using it in garments. The most recently reported case was the Sean John line. After a shipment reached the US, the company discovered the fraudulently labeled animal fur. The garments were pulled from stores. Sean John claimed their firm had no idea the fur was used, they had called for fake fur in the specs.

The Fashion Industry wants to use real dog hair for coats????

Sad

The Fashion Industry wants to use real dog hair for coats????

Oh calm down..

I saw this on a show last year. I think it was on Riplely's Believe it or Not...you just comb out a bunch of hairy dogs and then you card and spin the hair like you would lambs wool. This gal has been selling her dog hair sweaters for years, you also use it for trim on coats.

She swears they don't smell like a dog and she will comb your dog out until she gets enough fur and then make a sweater out of your own dogs hair.. its a gimmick.

The Fashion Industry wants to use real dog hair for coats????

if it is true this is new news

The Fashion Industry wants to use real dog hair for coats????

An animal advocacy group says its investigation has turned up coats - some with designer labels, some at higher-end retailers - with fur from man's best friend. Some retailers were set scrambling to pull the coats from racks, take them off Web sites and even offer refunds to consumers.

The Humane Society of the United States said it purchased coats from reputable outlets, such as upscale Nordstrom, with designer labels - Andrew Marc, Tommy Hilfiger, for example - and found them trimmed with fur from domestic dogs, even though the fur was advertised as fake.

"It's an industrywide deception," said Kristin Leppert, the head of the Humane Society's anti-fur campaign.

The investigation began after the society got a tip from someone who bought a coat with trim labeled as faux fur that felt real.

Leppert and her team began buying coats from popular retailers, then had the coats tested by mass spectrometry, which measures the mass and sequence of proteins.

Of the 25 coats tested, 24 were mislabeled or misadvertised, the society said. Three coats - one from Tommy Hilfiger's Web site ShopTommy.com, one from Nordstrom.com and one from Andrew Marc's MARC New York line sold on Bluefly.com - contained fur from domesticated dogs.

The others had fur from raccoon dogs - a canine species native to Asia - or, in one case, wolves. The single correctly labeled coat was trimmed with coyote fur, but it was advertised as fake.

The retailers the Humane Society said sold mislabeled raccoon dog fur included Lord %26amp; Taylor, BergdorfGoodman.com and Neiman Marcus.com.

Most of the fur came from China.

In response to the Humane Society's investigation, Tommy Hilfiger stopped selling the fur-trimmed garment and said it was looking into the matter.

"We were quite concerned to hear of this finding," Hilfiger spokeswoman Wendi Kopsick said.

Called customers

Nordstrom called the 62 consumers who had purchased vests with dog fur trim to give them the opportunity to return the vests, "because we would never want to deceive our customers in any way," spokeswoman Brooke White said.

She said Nordstrom no longer buys fur trim products from the vendor, who had marketed the vests as faux fur.

Charles Jayson, chief executive of Andrew Marc, disputed the Humane Society's findings and insisted in a statement that all fur on his coats labeled as raccoon contains "only farm-bred raccoon fur from Finland, and our items labeled 'faux fur' are a 100 percent synthetic fabric."

Michael Markarian, executive vice president of the Humane Society, said his group had exchanged letters with Andrew Marc over the test results and that the Humane Society stands by its research.

"Our tests have clearly concluded that not only is this real animal fur, but it's fur from domestic dogs. The fact that they don't believe us is unfortunate but we have confidence in our testing results," Markarian said.

But overall, he said, the Humane Society was pleased with retailers' response.

"We think that the corporations want to do the right thing and that they are being deceived just as much as the consumers are being deceived," Markarian said.

Importing domestic dog and cat fur was outlawed in 2000. Intentionally importing and selling dog fur is a federal crime punishable by a $10,000 fine for each violation.

Macy's, Penney

The discovery of domestic dog fur is the latest twist in the investigation that ensnared retail giants Macy's and J.C. Penney late last year. Both of those retailers were discovered selling coats with raccoon dog fur labeled as raccoon.

J.C. Penney initially removed the offending garments from its stores around Christmas - but eventually it had employees cover the 'raccoon' label with black magic marker and put the coats back on the shelves. Macy's immediately pulled the items from its shelves.

Mislabeling fur is a misdemeanor punishable by a $5,000 fine or a year in prison. Fur valued at less than $150 is not required to be labeled.

A bill introduced by Reps. James P. Moran, a Virginia Democrat, and Mike Ferguson, Repulican of New Jersey, would close that loophole by requiring labels for all fur regardless of its value. The proposed legislation also would ban fur from raccoon dogs.

"Americans don't want Lassie turned into a fur coat," Moran said.

IT'S TRUE-I'm boycotting the manufactuirers and designers-all of their designs not just the doggy fur creations.

The Fashion Industry wants to use real dog hair for coats????

I see the PETA troll are at it again!!!

Point blank ,,, if you are a friend of PETA or HSUS, you are not a friend of domestic animals of any kind!!!!

Are you sure you want to buy into the PETA HSUS-BS

"We have no ethical obligation to preserve the different breeds of livestock produced through selective breeding. ...One generation and out. We have no problems with the extinction of domestic animals. They are creations of human selective breeding" - HSUS VP Wayne Pacelle, Animal People, May, 1993

PETA's ultamate goal is the elimination of ALL human use of all animals, and by what ever means necessary. I just hope you all like carrots!!

The Fashion Industry wants to use real dog hair for coats????

Thats just wrong and Sad! well i think i know this website that goes directly to the presidents mail but wouloldnt want to bug him. Thats Horrible!!!

The Fashion Industry wants to use real dog hair for coats????

What has actually happened is the fashion industry imported some coats that had fur trim or were made of fur and were MISLABELED as coming from a wolf or coyote or some other animal but were actually from dogs raised in some Oriental countries to provide fur just as we raise mink and chinchillas for their fur. The US companies issued recalls on those items and also sent them back to the companies in the Orient.

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

Ok Im taking a 10 hour drive to orlando with my dog. and i need a good idea for keeping the dog hair out b/c my car has cloth in it and its really hard to keep it out. also we cant use her crate because she gets really car sick in it. So any ideas would be great.

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

First of all be sure to have the dog groomed before the trip. Bathe and brush it well. Maybe even twice. Than you can drape some plastic and/or a blanket over the seat the dog will ride in. Also, be sure to carry one of those small hand held vacuums and use it when ever loose hair flys around in the car. Also carry a dog brush and give the dog a quick brush before getting back into the car. Might even carry some duct tape or scotch tape for for getting any loose hair off the fabric.

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

you can put the dog in a crate when you take it some were or you can put a towel on the seat.

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

Get a big blanket at the thrift store and cover the seat with it.

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

they have a pet seat belt, put her in a restraint or one of those seat belts and have a blanket or towel uner her.

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

Get the dog shaved or don't take it with you. Andif you don't want to do those two things than get a lent roller.

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

Remember the dog is going to shed, regardless, so some loose dog hair will remain in the car no matter how careful you are.

But the best way I tried was to get a big (huge, king-size) wool blanket and lay that all over the upholstery. The shed hair will stick to the wool.

And try not to let her shake off unless she's outside the vehicle.

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

Spray the carpets and seats lightly with static gard so that the hair will vacuum up easily and cover the seats with sheets. You can also use crates to confine the dogs in the car.

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

Try rubbing down the seats with a dryer sheet like Bounce....then if you can cover the seats with sheets that will also help.

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

take a couple bed sheets, and cover the seats with them,

What is a good way to keep dog hair out of the car.?

you could get a different crate or just put tons of towels down... that is what i do and it works... then you just wash the towels

That's the life of dog ownership! Put your towels in a cupboard up high and make sure to quickly get them out of the dryer in to their place of cleanliness and safety!

How do you get up dog hair?

My dog is malting badly. He is losing masses of fur. I've tried brushing him bathing him and to no avail. I've accepted that he's gonna malt in the really hot weather we're having, but i'm finding it difficult to get his fur up off my carpet, and rugs. I've got Animal Dyson and that isn't even strong enough. Has anyone got any effective ways of getting up doggy hair?

How do you get up dog hair?

I don't now the area size of your carpeting, but I have great results with a push broom! yep, Get one with bristles not too stiff, and not too soft...The same firmness as a scrub brush (that's what i used to use..on my hands n knees) The stuff really clings to the bristles, and you pick it up on both sides of the brush head..

for firniture and car seats and clothing, the 2 for a dollar flat pocket comb (they come on a card, at walmart)The one you put a finger through...Anyway..they work better than anything else I've tried..

I breed the dog with THE longest hair...Big dogs..My groomer used the Furminator on my dogs, at the beginning of Spring..They are still shedding less! ..That product REALLY works to cut down shedding by at least 80%....And the dogs look great too.

Click the 'learn about' icon, then click on the pic of black dog to watch the video...its not a fake..http://www.furminator.com/

The only thing I have found that works really well on the carpet I have is the Swiffer Carpet Flick. It does a really good job. I sometimes use a lint brush as well.

How do you get up dog hair?

A lint roller, or tape. Good luck!

How do you get up dog hair?

Might not be so cost effective but take some masking tape and roll it the wrong way around your hand. (so the sticky side is out) Make like a mitten of it over just your fingers and roll that across the surfaces. I suppose you could get one of those lint rollers that are similar, but usually get expensive for the amount of hair. I've had cats that shed horribly and had to do that before hoovering over it.

How do you get up dog hair?

Duck tape wrapped around your hand!

How do you get up dog hair?

Take your dog to the groomers. They have treatment there for dogs that shed like crazy. As for the stuff around your house, you need something that is rubber and knobby. Like a squeegy with notches cut out of it or something, that will help.

How do you get up dog hair?

Roll some sticky tape in a ball and roll it over the carpet

How do you get up dog hair?

There are a few ways you could go about this.

1.) wrap duct tape around your feet, sticky side facing out, and walk around.

2.) vacuum really good, then shampoo the carpets, then after it dries vacuum again.

3.) get on hands and knees with a damp sponge and wipe the carpet.

4.) pull the carpet out and put in hard wood floors.

Good luck.

How do you get up dog hair?

It's just one strategy, but it works well on furniture. There is a sponge that is almost rubbery that does a really good job of pulling that hair up. I found it at Lowe's.

Also, my dog's hair is pretty long, and I've found that trimming it helps with malting.

How do you get up dog hair?

I buy Arm and hammer pet fresh with hair release. You sprinkle it on the carpet and let it sit for about 15 min. The powder neutralizes the static that holds the hair in place. Then vaccum. It releases the hair from the carpet and also makes the room smell nice. The first time I used this product I couldn't believe how much hair I picked up. Hope this helps

How do you get up dog hair?

Wow, I have the Dyson also, and it works fantastic. There is actually a large lint roller available in the mop/broom section of stores which is made for pet hair and has a long, broom handle length handle so that you don't have to be kneeling on the floor to use it. The company is called Evercare and it is called a Large Surface Lint Pic-Up. Their website is www.evercare.com if you cannot find the product in your area. Would your dog sit still for you to use one of the small soft brushes on the Dyson on him? Just place it on the hose and brush away, some animals enjoy this, if the noise of the vacuum doesn't scare them! This would be a fun excuse to get out of any unwanted social engagement, date, etc., Sorry, I have to stay home and vacuum my dog....he,he. silly, but fun. Best of luck to you and your oh so furry buddy!

What's the best vacuum for dog hair?

Yes I agree with want alot of people are saying here. The Dyson DC 17 is the nicest Dyson around for picking up pet hair. Mr. Vac and Mrs. Sew has a great deal on the DC 17. I mean a really really good deal. If you purchase a Dyson DC 17 All Floors from them for only $499.99 (only available on phone special, not the internet) you will receive a Mini Turbine Tool ($69.99 value), a Flexi Crevice Tool ($29.99 value), a Soft Dusting Brush ($29.99 value), a Mattress Tool ($29.99 value), a Multi Angle Brush ($34.99 value) and a Low Reach Tool ($49.99 value) FREE! That is a $244.94 Value. And they do get that kind of money for those pieces. You get everything the Animal gives you plus the Soft Dusting Brush, a Mattress Tool, a Multi Angle Brush and a Flexi Crevice Tool. (the Animal and All Floors are the same machine just one is yellow and one is purple, the difference is the tools they come with). The only thing you don't get is the Zorb (which almost no one uses anyway). Plus you get for All Floors with all the tools for $50 LESS! I just bought one a few days ago it is great on the pet hair better than I expected. I highly recommend getting this deal and this vacuum. The vacuum is great and the deal is even better. Here is their number (remember you have to call it in in order to get it, they can't list it on the internet) (If you want to see all the features of the machine just go on mrvacandmrssew.com and look at the Dyson DC17 Animal and imagine it in a yellow color, then subtract the Zorb and add all the extra tools the package comes with, go on Dyson.com to see them all):

What's the best vacuum for dog hair?

The Dyson- DC17 Animal. It does a great job at picking up pet hair.

What's the best vacuum for dog hair?

Dyson is the best, great for all over the house, especially if you have pets, easy to clean filter %26amp; no bag

What's the best vacuum for dog hair?

Dyson is the best , anyone. and is esasy to clean, but its expensive. My 2nd option is Kirby but it's too complicated to clean up, and you have to buy paper bags and hepa filters for them.

Something cheaper is Electrolux 360 with allergy hepa filter, removes pet hair and carpet care.

What's the best vacuum for dog hair?

Dysons' cost the earth, but a good more reasonably priced alternative is one of the hoover bagless uprights. We have long haired cats and they have worked well for us.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

if you're going to post up negative comments, please don't.

i am not looking for your opinions on what you think i'm doing as a dog owner, i'm just looking for a safe way to dye my dog's hair.

If you think that i don't love him, then you're very wrong. and no,dying you're dogs' hair is not animal abuse.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

poodles get their hair dyed all the time. AND IT'S NOT ABUSIVE EVERYONE!!! I found a site for ya. http://www.wordpress.tokyotimes.org/?p=4...

I hope this answers your question, or atleast give you some direction. Good luck, have fun!

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

If you love him you would not think of such a thing

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

I'm not sure that it's animal abuse but it is weird.. why would you want to do that?

I remember being in middle school and kids dying their hair with kool-aide. I don't think that would be harmful to a dog if he licked it. Food coloring??

But still.. why oh why would you want to do it? A purple dog is gonna look pretty silly and probably will get laughed at.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

Don't use human hair color on them!

You can use food coloring in a spray bottle with some water...

It's non toxic and will eventually rinse out.

Have fun! I don't think it's abuse at all. Dogs are supposed to be fun, and changing her hair color should be just that.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

I would suggest the spray in Halloween hair color. Just don't get it in the eyes or mouth.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

Ask your vet. Animals can have bad reactions to the strangest things - I mean chocolate can kill a dog, aspirin a cat - so you want to check with an expert before you put any substance on poochie. You may also check at a pet store - they sell costumes for pets, especially at halloween, so may have had such a question before. Also, try calling a dog groomer. I know they do all kinds of stuff to dogs hair.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

I don't see why this would be a problem unless you can't keep the dog from licking the hair coloring before rinsing it off. Just follow the directions. You might try one of those "Elizabethan collars" that they put on dogs if they injure a leg, to keep from being able to chew the bandaging off. If you have a friend with a dog or cats near the same size, ask them. Those things are expensive ($35 or so), I have one from a dog and from a cat, so I never have to buy one again if anybody gets hurt. I bet you could even make one but you'd have to get pretty creative.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

Please dont do that to your dog sounds like a terrible idea

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

I think it would depend upon what color your dog is... if it's a dark colored dog, then there probably isn't a safe way... dog hair being course, it could resist bleaching and put blisters on the dog, or it could cause skin problems. If the dog is a pale color, then I would think a color wash (one without peroxide) would be okay. Or maybe a henna. I would suggest asking your vet so there aren't any horrible consequences... People dye their hair, so, I don't see it as abusive, but just be careful. Also, I would really suggest giving your dog peanut butter to keep the skin nice afterwords (as long as the dog isn't allergic to peanuts). Just a tablespoon a day keeps my dog nice and shiny.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

How could you even think about dying its fur? If you really loved him, then you wouldn't even bother asking that question.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

sugar free koolaid

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

Once when I was little we had a little white bichon frise and my sister and I put red play-doh in water and were playing with it. anyway, we petted the dog with the water stilll on our hands and it made him PINK! So we did it more. Needless to say, my parents weren't too pleased. :)

okay to answer your question you can takl to your vet and ask him. There used to be a dog groomer's where I live that specialized in dying dog's hair. You can use food-coloring and water. Massage it in. I've read about other people doing that and it wokred fine for them.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

I know you dont want any negative comments but please if you do do this too your dog it would be best done by a groomer and please dont use human dye products on your dog it is very harmful for his skin etc. the best thing would be to find a groomer who dyes dogs hair , but there is kool-aid that can be put in there hair and is non-toxic also food coloring. i did actually find a website that sells pet safe hair dyes you might try.. hope this helps you~~

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

call around and ask some groomers they will know the right kind of dye to use. the groomer where i work uses it on her dogs. good luck

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

Last year at my employers annual pet carnival. ) We do a major adoption thing there with all the rescue groups.) I took a white standard pooble and used the colored hair spray that you can get at a beauty supply place. i made eack of her legs a different color. Then I made a template out of cardboard of a circle and sprayed her with different colored polka dots all over her body. i banded her tail in dfferent colors. and each ear was a different color.

as long as she didn't get wet, the color was fine. it washed out completely, and didn't hurt her a bit.

there are dyes, and the kool aid trick. but those won't wash out. you just have to let it grow out and then shave it off

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

Take your dog to the groomers some people do some people don't at least you want to know the safe way to =) unlike the idiots that use human dye =( very bad but yeah as I said the dog groomers probably will good luck.

Is there any safe way to dye my dog's hair? colors: yellow, purple, blue...etc.?

Yes. you can use jello

How do you get rid of dog hair in your lungs?

I recently dog-sat for the weekend and have been congested ever since. I don't think I am allergic per se, but i think I am sensitive to the amount of hair that was in the air, on the bed/couch, etc.

What can I do to make it easier next time? I am scheduled to dog sit for a week in August too...

How do you get rid of dog hair in your lungs?

you dont have hair in your lungs..if you did you'd be battling an infection by now...it sounds like you maybe be allergic to the dog.....best thing to do is limit physical contact with it, vacuum carpets etc and wash your hands and face well after touching the dog...or it maybe a coincidence that you may just be starting a cold the same time you were with dog....if it happens the next time you sit it then more than likely you've developed an allergy towards dogs...

How do you get rid of dog hair in your lungs?

Wear a mask?

How do you get rid of dog hair in your lungs?

You probably are allergic dogs. People can develop allergies to anything at anytime. You could explain to the owners what happened and ask them to vacuum the house before you dog sit again. Also you could ask your pharmacist to recommend a non-drowsy antihistamine for you.

How do you get rid of dog hair in your lungs?

Shave it. I hear that the Dr. Evil's pet look is switching from cats to dogs.

How do you get rid of dog hair in your lungs?

There is a product called Allerpet-D that is like you brush through their hair. It reduces the hair and dander allergens and works great for most dog allergies. Vacuum alot with a hepa vac. A regular vac will just blow all the allergens around.

How do you get rid of dog hair in your lungs?

you couldnt have dog hair in your lungs

people like me actually HAVE dogs and i dont have any dog hair in my lungs

you might be allergic

but your body usually doesnt let stuff like that into your lungs or you would feel it

How do you get rid of dog hair in your lungs?

About the only thing you can do is vacuum. My sister had cat hair in her lungs. You can have your chest X-rayed, you will be told what your problem is. Yet it could be the dogs shampoo. I am highly alergic to many things just since my early 50's.

How do you get rid of dog hair in your lungs?

You're allergic to dog dander, that's the flaking skin under their coats. If you must dog sit I suggest sitting only dogs that don't shed because shedding dogs shed their dander as well as fur. Or have the doctor prescribe allergy meds.

Is there anyway to control a dog hair problem?

My dog sheds so bad. I brush him everyday but still have dog hair all over the place.

Is there anyway to control a dog hair problem?

I give my dog brewers yeast and that helps with the shedding and any skin problems. I also just purchase a Furminator dog brush and it works! It was a little pricey but well worth it. You will not believe the hair your getting out of your dog and you only need to brush the dog once a week. Good luck, they have helped me with my chow / sheperd mix.

Is there anyway to control a dog hair problem?

Well.. Lots of shed but not lots so you shuold ethier go to the vet to see what they can do or get a new dog.

Is there anyway to control a dog hair problem?

Some breeds shed, and others don't. If you have a shedder and you brush him every day, I think you've done all you can. I don't think they make hair nets for dogs :-))

Is there anyway to control a dog hair problem?

Yes, brush against the the way the hair grows first and then brush the direction of the hair growth. There are special shampoos. Add Omega 3 to their diet. Sometimes hair shedding denotes stress. Make brushing time fun and soothing.

How ca stop my dog hair falling.?

I have a Lab dog he is 9 months old and his hair is folling like crazy.

How ca stop my dog hair falling.?

Falling out shedding, or falling out to where he has bald spots?

If it is just shedding..nothing is going to stop that. But you can lessen it by daily brushing..pick up a Zoom Groom or a shedding blade (Petsmart) and use that at least a few times a week. That, along with monthly bathing (giving a bath helps get all that dead undercoat out) will help.

If the hair is falling out and leaving bald spots...have him seen by a vet.

How ca stop my dog hair falling.?

Dogs don't normally go bald, so it could be something like mange or hot spots. Either way, you should go see a vet. If it is "Hot Spots" check out this site to help with the symptoms.

www.doggybutter.com

How ca stop my dog hair falling.?

The amount and localization of the hair loss is the definitive symptom, and you did not give that. Wash and brush your dog to remove the loose hair. If bald spots develop, take your dog to the vet. It may be due to food allergy or other stressors if it results in baldness. If there are crusty spots on the skin, suspect fleas, treat for them and also treat your house. If in doubt, consult your vet.

What's an effective way to trim heavily-matted hair on a dog without clippers?

My dog is old, and his hair has overtaken his legs and actually hinder his movement. I took it for granted that he would pass away before his hair would get so bad, so I figured I'd spare him the trauma of grooming at his age. But he still has spark, but he's miserable because he can't move very well due to the amount of hair. I need to cut him down, but I can't afford a professional groomer and I have no dog hair clippers. Scissors are wholly ineffective for the most troubled areas. Is there any way to loosen tight, matted hair so that I can cut it?

What's an effective way to trim heavily-matted hair on a dog without clippers?

detangle shampoo and a stiff brush

What's an effective way to trim heavily-matted hair on a dog without clippers?

I'd consider taking him to a vet, but the idea of a detangler and stiff comb/brush that was given earlier is your best bet if you can't go anywhere else. Just make sure you give your dog a bath afterward.

What's an effective way to trim heavily-matted hair on a dog without clippers?

Take the poor guy to the groomer and get him done properly.. He can't move properly, he is very likely in severe pain.. WHy are you torturing him???

What's an effective way to trim heavily-matted hair on a dog without clippers?

When it gets to that point, you really need to take him to the groomers. Anything less is abusive.

Poor guy.

What's an effective way to trim heavily-matted hair on a dog without clippers?

I agree.

either take him to the groomer, or someone with clippers.

that is no way to treat your dog! shame on you for "waiting for him to die!"

What's an effective way to trim heavily-matted hair on a dog without clippers?

You may need to break down and take him to a professional groomer. Using scissors could seriously cut her if the matts are really tight. Having her stripped down with clippers by a groomer who knows what they are doing is the best decision you could make for your dog.

What's an effective way to trim heavily-matted hair on a dog without clippers?

I had to do a Briard that was very matted. The matts hung like those on a Kommador but were thick. You slice down through a matt with your scissors to make the matt more managable, slice or cut down through the matts until you can safely cut it off. You do need a good pair of scissors that will cut hair.

Keep slicing or cutting the matts downward. Over %26amp; over again with each matt. Even if you leave some matt at the end get what you can get %26amp; as the matts are removed you can go back to some areas %26amp; do a better job once the main crap is out of your way.

A good pet store will have dematting blades in different kinds of tools. But a good pair of scissors is far faster %26amp; better to get the job done. It will hurt your fingers but to get that matt off you have to work hard at it.

I wish you were near me. I did that many times. I just got the mats removed %26amp; they took the dog home, no brushing, no bath, just removed the matts with the owners present. I stressed the dog as little as possible %26amp; they were on their way.

You might call around to see if there is a groomer in your area that will do that. Just remove the matts %26amp; let the rest go. It shouldn't cost too much, maybe $15 - $20.

Available at all good supermarkets.

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

She doesn't but they're not visible on film.

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

Consuela? (seriously, I think that's her name?) There is a little spanish lady in the background every now and again and I believe her name was Consuela?

she is stinkin filthy rich and probably has paid someone to go behind her and make sure the dog hair is picked up with that sticky thing

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

She probably has the dogs regularly groomed. With a dog regularly groomed, hairs are less likely to shed and become loose.

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

A lint brush, probably.

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

Yes, with all her money she probably has plenty of help around the house to do menial task such as vacuuming up the dog hairs around the house and getting them off of her clothes.

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

She pays someone to selotape her bum down!

Erm seriously, the camera can't pick the hairs up on TV.

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

She employs a 1ft drawf that fits in her gucci handbag to jump out and lick up the hairs and when drawfy has finished that job he plucks out ozzys nasel hair.

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

With her money she can pay each person to take the hair off her clothes by hand.

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

I'd sure like to know the answer to this as well.

I have 2 cats and I cannot wear black clothes.

I brush my cats twice a day, so it isn't because of that.

It would show on colors too and it doesn't... so why is it that the fur only sticks to black clothes?

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

sticky lint rollers

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

She does not allow them near her closet, or her, she protects them.

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

She has her own personal hair remover assistant either that or she carries a lint roller around with her!

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

She has assistants!!!

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

She probably gets Consuela to clean all her clothes!

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

I am sure she has someone who de-fluffs her clothes, mind you, she is sooooo rich that she probably doesn't have to wear anything twice

How dose Sharon Osborne keep all those black clothes, dog hair free?

Great question as she has her make-up and hair done everyday i would imagine that she either has a lackey that follows her round with a clothes brush....or shes so rich that she can change her clothes as many times as it takes to remain hair free.

You can also stop some of the hair from even getting on the floor. They have shed-enders at Walmart and I'm sure most places that have dog supplies have them also. It's just a comb type device that you brush through your animal and it gets a lot of the undercoat hair (which is the hair that is usually shed) out before it has a chance to fall out on its own. Works great!

The Best way is to give your dog a bath using special shampoo every other day and brush your dog every day.

My Hoover vacuum gets the brushes ruined from long dog hair. Will this happen with the Dyson?

I have a Dyson

You need to take off the bottom plate on the vacuum and cut the hair off that is wound up arounf the brush roller.

I have very long hair and three large dogs and I clean off the brush roller on mine about once every two months.

I take a box cutter and cut the hair and then un wind it from the roller. It only takes a few minutes and will help your vacuum to last much longer.

My Hoover vacuum gets the brushes ruined from long dog hair. Will this happen with the Dyson?

Absolutely not!!! I have had my Dyson Animal now for three years and it is one of the best investments I ever made. You will not be disapointed.

My Hoover vacuum gets the brushes ruined from long dog hair. Will this happen with the Dyson?

I have had the Dyson for a little over five years and never had a problem with it. I have two dogs, and one is a Lab. Knock on wood I have never had to repair or have had the Dyson break. I even use it to vacuum the Lab and there no problems. I do have the one for animals but a friend who has three hairy dogs has another model Dyson and she has had no problems.

My Hoover vacuum gets the brushes ruined from long dog hair. Will this happen with the Dyson?

I recommend the Dyson 100 percent and I also have an Oreck which is not in the basement gathering dust

My Hoover vacuum gets the brushes ruined from long dog hair. Will this happen with the Dyson?

Although a Dyson is a good vacuum, remember to always clean out the brush, Most vacuums will work well if you remove the hair from it frequently (I know it sounds like a hassle, but I have to do it every time I vacuum). Good luck with the new vacuum!

My Hoover vacuum gets the brushes ruined from long dog hair. Will this happen with the Dyson?

go to a used vacume store and buy a Kirby.. I have yet to have mine break .. and it is 25 years old and I have 5 long haired breeds in my home one being an esky spitz... (and she sheds all the time)

i don't think so. the dyson works differently from all the other vacs. in the market.

Dude, Dysons rock. I had to use one every day at the bakery i used to work at and it gets everything up from hair and dust to food chunks and bits. "they never loose suction" lol

My Hoover vacuum gets the brushes ruined from long dog hair. Will this happen with the Dyson?

If you have a pet, you must get a Dyson! Costs more but worth it. I am amazed by the amount of my dog's hair it picks up (I have a golden). Plus it picks up my long hair as well.

They have a Dyson called the "Animal" for pet owners but it's the same as the other Dysons in my pov.

My Hoover vacuum gets the brushes ruined from long dog hair. Will this happen with the Dyson?

I have a long hair cat and the hair got all tangled in my former vacuums and ended breaking. I have a Dyson now and no problems.

Which is the best hand vac to remove dog hair from your house?

If you thoroughly brush your dogs hair daily, with a moderately soft brush, you won't find much hair around the house. Moreover, its healthy for dog as brushing increases blood circulation %26amp; enhance hair luster %26amp; would look fluffy, you would love to hug your doggie now %26amp; then :o) Its much easier effort than vaccum cleaning the entire house. Give this a thought.

Which is the best hand vac to remove dog hair from your house?

Pet hair plugs up any type of vacuum. Regardless of which one you buy if you keep it cleaned, they all work the same. Your better of buying a real vacuum opposed to a hand vac anyway.

Which is the best hand vac to remove dog hair from your house?

Unless you have a mexican hairless, get a proper vacuum cleaner.

What item(s) do you use to stop dog hair from sticking on everything?

Static gaurd. If you spray it lightly on your carpets before vacuuming the hair lifts off much easier and you can also use static gaurd sheets on your clothes and i is less likely to stick.

Feed your dog a food with no more then 2 grains listed in the first 5 ingredients and it will cut down on the excessive shedding.

What item(s) do you use to stop dog hair from sticking on everything?

dog shampoo for anti shedding will help

and detergent on your clothes without cling will help

and use those sticky rollers to collect the hair =)

What item(s) do you use to stop dog hair from sticking on everything?

I get hairless dogs LOL

What item(s) do you use to stop dog hair from sticking on everything?

I have two cats and a dog, so I have just accepted the fact that I am going to be living with pet hair, no matter what I do. But to help reduce the amount of hair in my house I groom and brush my pets often. I have to vacuum and sweep often. And I have a ton of the sticky lint rollers. I have a very big one for the couches, and I have a small one for our clothes.

What item(s) do you use to stop dog hair from sticking on everything?

You could use a lint roller or something of the sorts .

Astrostarrboy

What item(s) do you use to stop dog hair from sticking on everything?

Grooming your dog regularly with a shed blade and a rubber curry brush will make a big difference. You can get both at the pet store. Do it outside, since you'll get a LOT of hair off. The more you get off outside, the less there is to get all over the house, you, the car...

A damp sponge does a good job of taking hair off of clothes, upholstery, etc.

Wrapping some tape, sticky side out, around your hand works well to get dog hair off, too.

Or you can just decorate and dress in colors that match your dog, then you can't see the hair!

What item(s) do you use to stop dog hair from sticking on everything?

My dogs don't shed, but I've heard that the "furminater" (sp?) comb/brush works well to remove excess hair from dogs %26amp; cats. That may help reduce the amount of hair sticking to things.

Does anyone know of somebody who might want dog hair for spinning yarn?

My grandmother had a friend, she died :o( who used to take all of my Samoyed fur.

I have seen clean undercoat sold on ebay for spinning. You have to be careful sorting it though as most spinners don't want the topcoat, hair from the legs or bottom of the chest or tail.

Does anyone know of somebody who might want dog hair for spinning yarn?

You can do an ebay search for people who sell things made from dog hair and offer it to them.

Does anyone know of somebody who might want dog hair for spinning yarn?

Check out www.vipfibers.com. They spin yarn out of pet hair.

Does anyone know of somebody who might want dog hair for spinning yarn?

I know someone who spins her dogs hair into yarn bu I live in NM and I don't know if that is near you. You could do an internet search or just ask around. Good Luck.

Does anyone know of somebody who might want dog hair for spinning yarn?

I went to a web site a few years ago for some woman that took dog fur and made human/dog sweaters but I can't think of what it is now but you might want to try typing in something like dog fur clothing or something like that. I know it's out there but I can't think of it now.

Does anyone know of somebody who might want dog hair for spinning yarn?

What a great idea.Wish I'd thought of that. I usually toss hair in the mulch pile and have noticed the birds fighting over clumps of it I guess to put in their nests.

What is the best vacuum to pick up dog hair?

They actually make specialized vacuum's for pet hair! I thought this was really cool because i have long haired cats, and regualr vacuums just wernt doing the job. You can find some of these specialized pet-hair vacuums at your local pet store. And actually, these vacuums are cheaper than regularvacuums. Here is a site you can check out about some pet-hair vacuums...

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Nothing works great but it can help to be sure the dog(s) are on a good diet and to brush them every day.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

NO I am sorry - I have a yellow lab and I too vacuum every day and I could do it twice a day - brushing the dog several times a day helps a little

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

No but you could trying shampooing the carpets once in a while. It should help out with the problem. Either that ot make the dog an outside dog.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Have the dog sheared/shaved close to the skin; that is what we do and it makes life so much easier, for us and the dog (who is cooler). Beware dog may need sunscreen if the dog is outside very much.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

LOL...I have cats BUT they are shedding little dickens too.

Yes, vacuum, dust, wipe down tables, counters, ect.

Before I go to bed I put plastic (g.bags) on the furniture that needs to be protected from "furry beasts".

Also A LOT of grooming does the job. Time consuming but necessary. Especially when every season changes.

Does your dog have a thick undercoat? Sometimes ALL the outside coat brushing does no good if the undercoat is thickened up with loose hair.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Sure, keep the dog outside.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Man I know!! It seems to be EVERYWHERE!! lol If I had the money...I'd totally get one of those robotic vacumes that vacumes by itself so you didnt have to do it LOL

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Shave your dog, or better yet, use nair.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

depends on what dog you have...

if you brush your dog first, it will save your energy from cleaning the dog hair for a week or 2

if you don't, you will have to clean everyday

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

you could brush it with a wet brush everyday.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Throw the stupid dog out, and that should get rid of the problem. You aren't trying to compare apples to oranges.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Well, I have a St.Bernard, and when she blows, the hair is just something else. I gather it, and give to a lady who uses the hair for spinning cloths. We also vacuum daily. Our biggest problem, is that we let her sit on the furniture with us, she is just a big baby and loves to sit and watch t.v. but her hair gets stuck in the fabric real easy, we are constantly picking hair out. My son won't let her in his house or car, but he comes over and takes hair with him, drives him crazy. A quick pick up idea is ...........get a paper towel damp, rub over the furniture or the floor to grab the hair, works great in cars.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

im sorry to tell u this, but there isnt. i have a shepard mix that sheds ALOT!!! i used to be able to bring him inside for a while, but ever since my parents got new furniture, i havnt been able to. one cuz they think he might rip the furniture, and two cuz of the shedding thing. hope this helps!

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Sadly, no. Children may create more mess on tables and walls and furniture, but the floor is usually where dogs rule, in terms of messes. They track in dirt from outside and shed constantly.

Of course, humans shed tons too. Don't clean your bathroom for a bit and just see how much hair is on the sinks, tub, shower and floor! So it's only natural for dogs to have hair everywhere.

If you are in the northern hemisphere, the days are now getting longer. More light automatically triggers a dog's body to shed the thick winter coat in preparation for the summer. So you will see an excessive amount of shedding now. And, of course, there are some breeds that shed non-stop year round.

My advice is to get a great vacuum and just accept it. The only alternative is to limit your dog to certain rooms. I'm not a fan of an "outside" dog at all. Not all dogs are meant to live outside year round. Plus, why force a social pack creature to live this solitary life? It's cruel. I love playing with my dogs too, so having them outside all the time won't work for me.

Some tricks I have learned over the years are using various carpet sprays or powders meant especially for pets. These are meant to not only make the carpet (and the room) smell great, but also help attract more dog hairs. Using them once every few weeks is a great way to keep your carpets extra clean. Look for them at any supermarket with the cleaning supplies.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Next time get one that doesn't shed like a schnauser.

They have to have about 4 trims a year.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Try brushing your pet thoroughly %26amp; everyday to help with the shedding

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

get an undercoat hair rake for the dog and brush it regularly. We have two dogs... a shepherd and a lab mix. This time of year is the worst because the dogs usually blow coat in the spring and fall. We bathe them, strip out as much hair as you can, and then brush them frequently. That, and we have berber carpet to hide the hair, lol.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Well ma'am there is no surefire way to get ur dogs hair out of ur house, but here are some tips to stop it from spreading.

1. Dont let ur dog spend long periods of time lying on ur furniture.

2. Let ur dog rest and lie around outdoors when the ground is dry in the spring and fall (be carefull, summer heat might cause the dog harm.)

3. When ur dog is in ur house, keep him in specific areas, dont let him wander ur house. This will make cut your vacuming time down significantly.

P.S. Remember, ur dog is an animal that cant stop itself from shedding. In fact, shedding is a sigh that ur dog is healthy, unless he is really overshedding, in which case call ur vet.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

The only thing I can think of to help keep the hairs down is to brush ur dog everyday and keep a air purifier going --it will suck up pet dander--and check some of the foams out that u spray before u vacuum cause they will cut down on vacuuming time --have an ingredient that loops the hairs together.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

I have had dogs %26amp; cats all my life. I clean house for a living there is no way of getting rid of all the dog hair. So you will just have to live with it. I do sweep about two times a week.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

Tis the season ................ dogs are in their spring shedding mode again. A bath and a good brushing will help.

Is there smart way to get rid of dog hair in the house ? i vaccum everyday !?

some places have what is called a surge bath and vac it cost more but it works on keeping hair down you have to do it like 2-3 times then once monthly, as I said it can get expencive

Is a lab a bad dog to have if someone in your family has allgeries to dog hair?

Even if you brush him/her everyday and keep them clean

Is a lab a bad dog to have if someone in your family has allgeries to dog hair?

Yes, because most of the time the person is not only allergic to the hair, they are allergic to the dander of the dog. Labs shed quite a bit and the hair is small and easily inhaled and gets on clothing. I would recomend a dog such and a yorkie or if you want a bigger dog a standard poodle, those do not shed. I am allergic to dogs but have 4 of my own. and find that long haired dogs such as golden retrievers dont bug me as much because the dander cant directly get on me and nor can the hair easily be inhaled.

Is a lab a bad dog to have if someone in your family has allgeries to dog hair?

It's not any worse than any other dog. However, your best bet would be a dog that sheds little or not at all. There are a few breeds that are like that. I have allergies and dogs, and I just suffer through the allergies and continue to love the dogs! It's tough though, sometimes....

Good luck.

Steve

Is a lab a bad dog to have if someone in your family has allgeries to dog hair?

Any dog is bad to have if a family member has allergies. There is a shampoo you can buy but you will have to bathe the dog often and the person still might have allergies towards the dog.

Is a lab a bad dog to have if someone in your family has allgeries to dog hair?

it doesn't matter what you do a dog is a dog know matter what breed. the person is allergic to dogs period

Is a lab a bad dog to have if someone in your family has allgeries to dog hair?

Any dog is probably bad to have if someone in the house has allergies to them; but I would think a short haired breed would be better due to the fact that there is much less shedding involved. But, if you're brushing the lab rigorously and ridding excess hair before it becomes extraneous, it might be okay. And there's always allergy medicine.....

Is a lab a bad dog to have if someone in your family has allgeries to dog hair?

A Bichon Frise is a good dog for people with allergies. Although they do resemble a white, puffy poodle.

Is a lab a bad dog to have if someone in your family has allgeries to dog hair?

well yeah its still dog hair. but if u dont have any side effects. like i am allergic to cat seliva and i hold my cat but it dont bother me

Is a lab a bad dog to have if someone in your family has allgeries to dog hair?

Technically it is the dander from the dog's skin and not the hair that causes the allergy. I am allergic to all haired animals.

I always wash my hands after handling animals, and make sure that I do not touch my face or eyes because that tends to irritate the allergy.

Depending on the severity of the allergy a person may or may not be able to live with them in the house. Homes with lots of carpet and cloth furniture will retain lots of dander. Homes with bare floors and wood furniture will be easier.

Desensitizing shots can be done to reduce or eliminate allergies. These can be expensive and require many shots over a period of months.

Is a lab a bad dog to have if someone in your family has allgeries to dog hair?

Labs aren't a good choice since they frequently shed their downy undercoat(even though it seems really short!!) Curly coated dogs like water spaniels, curly coated retrievers, poodles,il etc. because they dont shed ANY fur, however, you will need to clip its fur regularly
