My dog's hair is all tangled & I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

I am a weak-hearted person who was never able to hold a scissor next to my dog, Tracey, our 14 year old dog never allowed us to cut her hair, so normally we drug her and get her hair cut every couple of months! Now she's too old, there's a great risk to drugging her at this age! and her hair is just getting worse! SHE WON'T LET ME CUT ANYTHING! I know what you're thinking.. yes she is very spoiled! but it's too late to change now! Any tips or advises would do! I'm getting desperate... Please note that holding scissors next to her makes her all mad and aggressive it's virtually impossible!!

ANYONE???

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

I had a 12 year old Shih Tzu with that problem. I just took her to the vet one day, and they took care of it without drugging her or anything. They're not quite as concerned about looks as they are hygiene, so they shaved her down gently (they're the pros as far as I'm concerned) and from then on I brushed her twice a day, absolutely every single day. I would also spray anti-matting spray in her hair before brushing her. Never had a problem again!

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

Brush brush brush brush brush! If your dog has longer hair that mats and tangles easily brush at least once a week to keep it to a minimum. If your dog is groomed like this regularly it shouldn't be as big a problem. If the scissors makes her aggressive don't use them. Brush out what you can and work on getting the others out. If you really need to use scissors on something muzzle her and give her a light sedative that has been recommend from a vet and have some others help you but only if you really need to. good luck.

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

Um.. take her to the vet to get shaved and brush her regularly and you wont run into this problem.

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

I would suggest using shears..not scissors. My dog doesn't like me grooming her but she does allow the groomers to do it.

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

maybe call a vet and they will suggest what to do. You could also maybe call in a dog groomer that could come to your house.

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

My mom had a similar problem with her Golden Retriever who was 12. He hated to be groomed and brushed. Whenever he got tangeled, she always took him to the vets and had them deal with it. There specially trainted and equipped to deal with pets who have fears of scissors. They know how to calm them and work with them. Take your dog to the vets, or to a professional groomer and have them deal with it. They've gone to school for it and know how to deal with matts and tangles.

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

There is a really simple answer to your question- take her to a professional groomer! My cousin is a professional groomer and she has dealt with dogs with all sorts of behavioral issues. Expain the situation to them, and they will bring the dog in and groom her without drugs or undue stress. This IS the best option for you and your dog, you should do so immediatly!

If you need assistance locating a groomer in your area, just e-mail me. I would be happy to help. Good Luck!

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

Can you bring her to a groomer and maybe they can shave her?

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

I've never tried this, but it sounds like it might work. Spray diluted creme rinse onto her fur and massage in. Then comb out gently, careful not to pull any tangles. When you do get to a tangle, hold it between her skin and the tangled portion. When you pull with the comb be sure to let your hand absorb the force of the pull. Only do small portions at a time. Make it a daily habit so she will hopefully get somewhat used to it.

Good luck!

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

Talk to the groomer. They may be able to do it without the dog being drugged.

Make sure to brush her. There are de-tangling sprays available at Petsmart.

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

Hold her, shave her, and make her behave. She will probaly feel a heck of a lot better clean.

My dog's hair is all tangled %26amp; I'm very worried about her Hygiene!?

As a groomer (and dog trainer) who specializes in difficult and aggressive dogs, I can tell you that at her age, you are limited. Tere are several different methods of sedation and tranquilization out there, ask your vet if they would reccommend any. They have her history and know what she's like. I will not groom a dog over 12 with sedation. Too risky. I prefer not to sedate at all, but after 3 yrs and 10+ trips to the ER, I realized there are sometimes no other options. CAN YOU GET A MUZZLE ON HER??? Petsmart sells them and ask one of their groomers to show you which one will fit and work best. Sometimes they put on a tough show but then realize they are outta luck when it comes down to it and they will settle. One major factor is your behavior if you are intimidated or agressive yourself, it will effect the dog. Be calm cool and get to the point with the scissors/clippers. Good luck to you and feel free to e mail me if you have more ?'s on this

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

lol ok soo my friends dog just ate a whole tube of hair removal cream from tescos. What is the chance the dog will die. The cream is tescos own brand and the dog is a 16 week old english bull terrier.

This is a serious question. I know i find it a little funny but I dont want him to die. What do you think? is the hair removal cream toxic enough??

Thanks

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

Call the Vet now. This is a serious emergency.

Have the tube on hand to take with you.

You may need to make him vomit. The vet can explain. 1 or 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide will make him vomit within 5-10 minutes.

This is a SERIOUS emergency. If you read the label, it will tell you what to do if ingested (eaten). Follow those instructions and get your vet on the phone now.

Please hurry and do this. It's a serious problem and waiting is going to make things worse.

Best of luck.

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

The pup should be taken to the vets right away. Poor puppy!

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

I don't know but thats definitely not funny. Read the ingredients. You can call Poison Control and ask them. Or you could call a vet. Most vets won't charge for over-the-phone advice.

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

Probably...... if not!!! Just loss of hair!

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

Hello, ASK A REAL VET..not the kind who claim to be one's in here...also look on the tube, see if there is info on poisioning by this stuff..but definately ASK A REAL VET..a GOOD professional won't be in here answering questions then claim to be one...Take Care :)

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

It's definately worth a call to poison control, or the vet to ask the question.. I wouldn't have called you and got you to ask a bunch of strangers.. I would have called myself to find out if it's a problem. You ever smelled that stuff?? Without reading the label, it's apparent that it's not a good idea to be eating it..

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

the hair removal cream is not not toxic enough to kill the dog but to be on the safe side make sure the dog drinks plenty of water. the dog might throw up but it will be fine

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

He should go to the vet just in case.

He probably won't.

Tell your friend to be prepared to clean up massive amount of vomit or diarrhea.

And if the dog doesn't do that..you got lucky..my dog would've lol.

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

Get off the computer and call the poison control center, there should be a number on the back of the bottle. Your friend probably should not even have a dog. IF the dog is not dead by now, consider finding him a new owner!

Shame on you people

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

Please tell your friend to take the 16 WEEK old dog to the vet. It's not funny at all and you shouldn't joke about it, the dog could be in pain.

I'm sure it's toxic ENOUGH - it's not like the dog would normally have that on it's menu. Be a good friend and make sure the dog sees a vet before it's too late. The dog may need to drink a lot of water to flush it out, or worse. WHO KNOWS - ASK A VET!! :) Please!

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

Give the dog lots of milk. it may help. also in his water put one teaspoon of vinegar in a full bowl of water. Take him to the vet right away. Hair removal burns. Go Now To The Vet .You Got Me Worry.

Dog eating hair removal cream....gunna die??

I've work with animals in the pass; you need to take the dog to see a veterinarian as soon as possible. The hair removal products have acids and other chemicals that are only to be put on skin for a curtain amount of time. And if left on for too long the acids in the products can actually burn the users skin, leaving burns to the 1st, 2nd, or ever 3rd degree if left for way to long. This will happen much quicker if the dog digested this product. Take the dog to the vet, and also call the poisons control number on the box of the cream Hope everything goes well.

I have an Oreck vacuum cleaner and it works well picking up cat hair on my carpets and laminate in the kitchen. It can also be used on wood and tile floors without scratching the floor. They are lightweight, also, with a strong motor.

The Dyson Animal. Pricey, but worth it.

I am looking for the best vacuum cleaner for picking up dog hair but can also be used on wood and tile floors?

I couldn't live without my Rainbow! Best I have ever used on carpets and wood floors and linoleum floors and tile floors, especially with dog and cat fur...very expensive but worth every penny...but even better on wood and tile floors is a dry head Swiffer Mop! I love mine terribly!!

I am looking for the best vacuum cleaner for picking up dog hair but can also be used on wood and tile floors?

Hello Donna, I have to say I find the Dyson one of the best hoovers I have ever had, I live in Spain and in most houses and flat楹搒 there is only tiled flooring a wood floors, %26amp; a lot of rugs so they are very good for everything , dust pet hair楹搒 My daughter borrowed my hoover ,she has a dog and she could楹搕 believe how good it was they even used it to clean the car , and went out the same day and bought one, I have to say I found it a bit hard to use when I first got it , but now would楹搕 be without it so I would suggest a Dyson

I am looking for the best vacuum cleaner for picking up dog hair but can also be used on wood and tile floors?

Try the wet and dry vac.

I am looking for the best vacuum cleaner for picking up dog hair but can also be used on wood and tile floors?

A commercial vacuum is the best to buy. You will have to find a store that sells them. Not a department store. They will cost about 200.00 to 250.00 but are worth every penny. Buy a bagless that is easily emptied and you don't have to buy bags all the time. As far as a name brand let the store help you with that.

Good Luck.

I am looking for the best vacuum cleaner for picking up dog hair but can also be used on wood and tile floors?

Vacuum cleaners are not good for wood and tile floors, since the beater bar can damage the floor. There is a cordless rechargeable vacuum made by shark that works well for picking up dog hair on all floor surfaces. The beater bar does not turn as quickly as an electric vacuum so it does not damage the flooring.

I am looking for the best vacuum cleaner for picking up dog hair but can also be used on wood and tile floors?

The Roomba (a robotic vacuum) is a great choice for people with pets...and has the bonus of turning it on and letting it go...while you're at work, etc. Like any good vacuum cleaner, it's pricey, but no bags to buy, and no heavy thing to lug around!

I am looking for the best vacuum cleaner for picking up dog hair but can also be used on wood and tile floors?

Kirby vaccuum

Dyson makes the dc17 animal which is great for pet hair. It is also designed for easy transition from carpets to hard floor. Won't damage wood or tile floors. There's a full write up at http://vacuum-better.com/dyson-dc17-revi...

Dog losing hair after malnutrition?

about 3 weeks a family member got a wild hair and moved, leaving their golden retriever behind. when i heard about this i went and got the dog, which couldnt hardly walk because of its lack of energy, limping on its front legs, and had a big patch of hair missing on its upper back with scabs all over, and one swollen raised lump in that same hairless area. since ive been feeding the dog the last couple days its energetic again and able to walk fine, but the hair problem still persists. i dont have money to take somebody elses dog to the vet as my own dog costs enough, so does anybody know what condition this is and how i can treat it?

Dog losing hair after malnutrition?

it sounds like mange to me. u say u can't afford another dog, so either find it a new home or take it to the pound so he can get some medical attention as he really needs it. i don't think there is anything in the pet stored u can buy but take him there and see if u can afford some otc meds. , if they have anything.good luck

Dog losing hair after malnutrition?

I agree it sounds like mange. It is sad that it was left.

Dog losing hair after malnutrition?

i don't really know but this is a very dangerous situation

Dog losing hair after malnutrition?

As the others mentioned, it is probably mange. You can go to a farm supply store and get a mange dip. It will work on the sarcoptic mange and on fleas and ticks if it has any. It doesn't cost very much. I would try that first. you will have to do 2-3 applications. If it doesn't cure it, you will either have to take him to the vet or give him to the ASPCA or someone who can care for it.

Dog losing hair after malnutrition?

It could be mange, but a vet really needs to check. There are several forms of mange, a couple which are highly contagious and one that is hereditary and not contagious.

You can put the dog on a premium dog food to boost it's immune system, but with all what's going on with that dog, I'd turn him over to a no-kill shelter so he can get proper vet care.

http://www.libertydogtraining.com

Dog losing hair after malnutrition?

It will take the dog a while to recover, be patient. I have seen a dog so malnurished he still had his winter coat in August! It took a very long time to get him looking healthy again... and they can have long term health concerns from the neglect. Check with a vet to be sure his blood count is good, and he is worm free.

Dog losing hair after malnutrition?

IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD THE DOG, THEN SURRENDER IT TO THE SPCA AND TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY WILL PROVIDE THE NECCESARY MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR THE DOG. YOUR BILL COULD RUN IN THE UPPER HUNDREDS TO GET HIM HEALTHY AGAIN.

What is the absolute best vacuum cleaner to pick up dog hair?

I have dark red carpet, ceramic tile and hardwood floor in my home. I use swiffer when I can, but every vacuum I get is worn out and starts to clog up and smell within a few months. Granted, I've bought the Bissels, Hoovers and Dirt Devils, but I need something that works but isn't the cost of a small car!

I have an electrolux sweeper and it is the very best. Check your local home supply store for one. They are not as expensive as you would think.

What is the absolute best vacuum cleaner to pick up dog hair?

Try to find a carpet rake - it looks like a giant plastic comb on a mop handle - and rake the hair off the carpet before vacuuming. I think I paid less than 10.00 for mine, but I can't remember where I bought it. It works great - I have four cats and five dogs, who all shed like crazy, and I don't know what I would do if I didn't have this thing.

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

My dogs shed horribly. I sweep my floors several times per day and it never seems to end. My furniture is full of hair. I have even invested in a jumbo lint roller, but that is't even helping!!!!

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

There is this great under-coat rake call the "shed ender" and it works really well. We use it on our cat and our dogs. You can buy it off of ebay or maybe there is even a shed ender site.

Good luck!

Put them in your backyard or vacum the floor

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

I dont know what kind of dog you have but I have a golden retriever and I know what you mean, butif you get what is called a "rake" undercoat brush that will help getting exsess hair off your dog. I use it and it helps alot, you will never get it all if you alow the dog free rain of teh house but it helps alot, make sure you use it every day!!!!

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

Sorry...your dog is a shedder and the only way you will be able to stop it is to find him a new home. Awww...hopefully that is not an option! :)

Fortunately, there are some things you can try to help ease the situation. Keep your dog well-groomed. Brush him daily and bathe him on a regular basis. Try adding omega fatty acids to his food to keep his coat and skin healthy.

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

First off, how old is your dog?

Next just some information:

Most dogs shed. Sometimes, it will never be cured. The only thing you can do is comb them, using a really fine comb, maybe even a flea comb. You can find tons of types at the pet stores. You will need to get out all the loose fur this way.

You can also use some great shampoo's you can get from the vet's. You can call them up to see what they recommend.

Next, You must also consider, food allergies, thyroid issues, and fleas.

These things can cause many fur and skin problems.

The only real way to figure it out is to get an exam at the vet's.

If not, this problem will continue and only thing you can do is clean and comb.

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

A good coat of varnish on the dog should do the job!

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

You know, I have a few tricks for you. . . .first, I cover my furniture when no guests are around, with throws that I can remove and wash. I also use slipcovers.

Also, invest in an inexpensive little Dirt Devil hand-held vac. It is GREAT. I have one upstairs for bathroom floors, and one downstairs for the kitchen, etc. I use a large vacuum too on my hardwood floors - the broom just picks up static and moves the hair around.

Brushing your dogs daily will also help some.

I have 3 large dogs (one long haired and another who sheds a LOT), and two cats. . . I have learned to ignore it. I don't clean it every day . . . life is too short. I don't let it make me crazy. . . But I don't let it get too out of control either, because then it's hard to clean up.

I don't wear dark clothes in the house. I change before I leave the house, even to run to the store - don't want fur on the clothes to scare people. LOL

Try to relax about it a bit. The dogs are worth it! To be without them would be worse. Get a Dirt Devil hand vac!!

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

Dogs shed by nature you can't stop it but you can reduce it by having a good quality shampoo/conditioner and proper grooming and often, very often if need be with a proper brush/rake.

Depending on the breed of the dog, if it's not known as being a shedder have it checked by the vet..it may have some underlying health issues causing to shed excessively.

You may also consider training your dog not to go on the furniture or use throw blankets on the furniture to be able to wash them easily... overstock.com has some nice ones..I just bought 24 fleece throws for $100.

Or get a good vaccum.

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

I wish I knew what kind of dogs, since then I could make grooming suggestions. I have three dogs, a Great Pyrenees, a brindle lab-Akita cross and a Jack Russell terrier. We have hair, too! I just got a micro-fiber mop head. I have several of the cloths for the mop, so I can use it wet or dry and then wash the cloth in the machine.

For the dogs themselves: for the Pyrenees, I use a wire slicker brush, for the lab cross I use a metal comb, for the terrier %26lt;flat coat%26gt; I use a rubber curry type comb. It works well on the lab cross too.

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

while there are several good products out there to help with shedding, shedding can occur for a number of reasons.(1.) Poor diet.(2.) skin allergies or irritations as dry skin. I could go on, but the list is very long. Usually these two problems are the more common ones. give your vet a call(doesn't cost to call) and ask his opinion. Also if you bath your dog to often that can also lead to dry skin and shedding. I hope this has been helpful. good luck!

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

Give it up. Dogs shed.

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

The type of dog you have can determine what steps you can take to lessen shedding. For all dogs: DIET can play a role in excessive shedding. Your dog may need a different brand of dog food AND some supplements. I have a Golden mix that used to be a big shedder until I got her on the right food for her and added some Supplements. She takes NutraVed and 3V Skin Caps from the Vet. The 3V has Omega three, Vit A, D and E.

Add to that brushing your dog regularly with the right brush for the breed.

Some dogs need a shedding blade especially in Spring and Summer.

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

Start cleaning or get rid of the dogs

How can I keep my furniture and vinyl floors free from dog hair? My dogs shed horribly!?

i have hardwood floors and an akita,he sheds a poodle a day. i use a stick vacuum every day to keep up ,it only takes about twenty minutes.i put sheets on my furniture, hair doesn't stick to them to bad,you just shake them out before you vacuum.it's either that or put him out.i love him to much for that.

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

We have 5 dogs, and some carpeted areas. We have spent more money on vacuums than I care to admit. Oddly enough, the best one is this 15+ year old Eureka canister vacuum that we still have.

What have you found the best vacuum cleaner for pet hair to be? I don't really want to spend $600 on a Kirby, but I'm open to spending something as long as I get a machine that really, uh, sucks.

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

The vacuum we use is Dyson "The Animal". We have 2 cats and 1 big dog, and it makes our carpet look brand new when we vacuum. Only downside, it is about $600.00

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

I was thinking of asking this one myself and would love to hear from people that have found good solutions!

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

They actually make vacuum cleaners now that specifically say on the packaging that they are for pet hair removal. I have one myself that I bought at K-Mart for about 70 dollars, and it has been a great help!! I wish I could remember the brand name, but it slips my mind right now. But as I said, look on the box for ones that say that they are for pet hair removal.

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

dyson, does a good job and not too expensive!

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

Bissel Pet Hair Vac. It is bagless and works wonders on our carpets -we have 2 cats and a dog. $179 at Walmart.

I have heard Dyson's are great but cost upwards of $600.

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

Get a Dyson! I have one and I'd fight anyone who tried to take it from me! lol I have 3 golden's here and it has been a life saver and a back saver!

They are worth every penny you spend on them!

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

Dyson.

I have malamutes. nuff said.

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

well, Kirby genoration 5, wasnt too expensive, just as good as my current gen. 8, not much diffrence, sep the speed and noise, both great cleaners! (Kirby gen. 8 approx $700, gen. 5 about... umm.... $500, i think, im not sure i got it that long ago XD!. oh and, i used to have a dyson, not the greatest at my collie hair, but i did have 6..... mass hair build up killed it, but it was sooooo cool while it lasted.)

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

I'm a HUGE fan of our Dyson Animal. It's in the same price point as the Kirby. Our neighbor has the Kirby and she thinks ours works better.

The first time we vaccumed with the Dyson, we were totally grossed out at the amount of "stuff" that came up...we did ONE ROOM and had to empty the container.

Well worth the money....and if you get it at Bed Bath and Beyond, you can use one of their 20% off coupons too!

What is the best vacuum cleaner for getting up dog hair?

We have a Dyson and it was the best purchase ever. It picks up our dog's hair and any other particle on the floor. Highly recommended

Best vacuum for wood floors and lots of dog hair?

We go through a vacuum about every 8 months - between 3 long haired dogs, a cat and 2 people - lots of hair - and then the wood floors have sand that when vacuumed, shoots out the back of the vacuum and hits me in the legs! Every vacuum we get becomes ineffective after a year max. Is it worth spending a fortune on a top of the line vacuum (will that really solve the problem of the backfiring dirt and the loss of suction after a year?). We usually get vacuums around the $100 range - would stepping it up to an expensive one mean it should last longer? Also, always get upright with hepa filter and dirt cup. Do cannisters work better?

Best vacuum for wood floors and lots of dog hair?

We use a shop vac and buy the bag filters for the inside. No blow back, dirt and pet hair go in the bag just like a regular vac, and it can be used all over the house. Doesn't mark up the wood floors, either. Works just as well getting the hair off furniture, carpets, etc. Just LOVE the shop vac. We've had ours for 9 years now with no loss of suction, nothing is wrong with it. Still works like a charm.

And while we are talking vacuums - I use my swivel sweeper all the time...

Good luck

Best vacuum for wood floors and lots of dog hair?

You need a $5 broom... not another vacuum.

Best vacuum for wood floors and lots of dog hair?

I got a Dyson animal vac which I love and would get another in a heartbeat. I've had mine now for two years, and I have two german shepherd's who have lots of hair. It works as good today as it did on the day I bought it. It sucks up everything and anything. I have recommended it to several of my friends with pets and they also love theirs. It is a bit pricy (we got ours at Linens and Things on sale for $450.00) but it was worth every penny.

Best vacuum for wood floors and lots of dog hair?

Got one of those upright Sharks with hepa %26amp; dirt cup. Have hardwood floors through entire house (2 floors)....it works great, although I do find I have to empty canister too fast. I pass Swifter afterwards, just in case.

Wonder if that Dyson would be even better!

Best vacuum for wood floors and lots of dog hair?

oh my great question i have had the same problem im on my third one in two years thanks ill take the ADVICE you get thanks again!!

Best vacuum for wood floors and lots of dog hair?

get a rainbow, in initial cost is high but it has a 30 year warranty, all the sand hair and dirt stays in the base until you dump it. it is low maintenance and doubles as an air purifier. we have a long hair cat and short hair dog that sheds from spring to winter. best investment ever made for cleaning

We just use a regular vacuum which doesn't work that well, but I know people with a Dyson animal vacuum and they love it. They are more expensive, but everyone I know says they are definitely worth it

Best vacuum for wood floors and lots of dog hair?

I live and die for my Dyson "animal" yes...that's what it's called and it is expensive but I bought mine on line "refurbished" for about $350 and have had it almost 5 years. Look it up on the internet and yes it is well worth the money!!! Contact me if you have any questions!! Good luck! We've had a litter (8) of black lab pups 3 labs and now a brittany spaniel....

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

I have been shaving my dogs hair for about 4 months but now that winter is here I decided to stop. Now some of his hair seems to not wanna grow back.

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

You shouldn't shave a pug. By doing in, you may have damaged to coat so bad that it will no longer grow back.

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

Look I own a pug %26amp; I understand y u would want 2 shave 1 the spring shedding is terrible but beyond that they r miserable in the summer heat can't keep cool constantly panting but want to play I shaved mine at a groomer last year and he was cool and happy much more comfortable than the year before Report It

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

Do not shave your pug!

Why are you doing this? Is it because of shedding? Pugs have very short hair and need it for protection from the sun and winter cold. They should not be shaved. You can rub it down outside to get the loose hairs out, vacuum more often.

But let his hair grow back in. Hopefully it will become like new but it may take 6 months to a year.

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

Why do you shave your pug? Their hair protects them from both heat and cold. If it is to prevent shedding I find a good rub down with a rubber glove every day does the trick. Pugs can be prone to skin and coat problems but other more serious things can cause hair to not grow back.

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

Why are you shaving a pug's hair? Pug's are a breed that do not get shaved unless they have some sort of fungus that needs topical treatment and the Vet says it needs shaving.

So I would strongly advise if you just do this because you think it looks cute or something, to stop. Also, if you are not an experienced groomer or real familiar with dog clippers, you can burn your dogs skin. Maybe that is why the hair is not growing back everywhere?

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

They don't have much hair to start with. Why would yoiu want a bald pug? That is cruel. I certainly hope you are not serious.

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

It may never grow back in right. I'd shave him if it was medically necessary, but that's it. I have never had a pug, but have had other dogs that needed to be shaved for surgeries, and on some the hair grew back--on others, they always had thinner sparse hair. One even grew back with a cowlick thing.

Here's hoping your dogs fur looks good soon! Stop shaving the poor thing.

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

Shaving your pug? Pugs have a very thin layer of hair to start with. Why would you want him to be bald? The only time you should shave a pug is when it is directed by a vet for medical reasons.

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

ugh!

DO NOT SHAVE DOUBLE-COATED BREEDS!!!! it destroys the coat (as you have now found out). it will never go back to the way it was before. it may improve, but you can not undo all the damage. the only dogs that should ever be shaved are single coated breeds like shih tzus, yorkies, poodles, etc.

there is really no point to shaving a double-coated dog. it doesn't make them shed less (the hair is just smaller) and the coat grows back in even thicker than before. the hair, even in really fluffy dogs like huskies and samoyeds, acts as insulation from both the heat and the cold.

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

it takes a long time for a pugs hair to grow back so dont be worried and if it doesnt grow bak.....knit him/her a wooly jumper! lol

dont worry... trust me i almost did the same thing.

rikku

Is it ok to shave a pug's hair with dog clippers?

OF COURSE it's ***NOT***,ya moron!

They're already short!

Now,it's RUINED ...forever?

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

i have two dogs, a great pyrenese and a jack russel terrier and they are both shedding, the big one more than the little one and i cant seem to get all of the hair up off of my hard wood floors it seems like im sweeping and mopping all the time. any suggestions?

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

HI! I got a micro fiber mop. I dry mop my harwood floors every day. Vacumm every other day. I does seem to do the job. I got mine from QVC. I just love it . I can also damp mop with it too. I doesn't leave a lot of water on the harwood so there is less of a chance of damaging the floors too.

I have 2 golden's. Talk about fur everywhere!!!

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

Withmy dog's hair I just use the hoover - i have a nozzle with a brush on the end which does good. Otherwise I use a dirt-devil or wet wipes.

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

Sweeping and mopping definitely doesn't work as well as we all would like. Swiffer makes a really cool little hard floor sweeper thing. I have two different kinds. I have one that has a little sticky pad on the bottom of it and the hair sticks to it. The other one has a static electric thing that picks up all hair and dust- they leave my hard wood floors spotless... Until I let the dogs back inside! Try Walmart or a grocery store. Thats where I got mine.

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

Maybe try a swiffer they have them at walmart. Or does your vaccum cleaner have a mode for hard wood floors that might help. The swiffer has a long handle with a place on the end where these dry like cloths go and you basically glide it over the floor. It's like electrostatic and picks up hair and dirt. We use it on our walls and floors.

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

Get one of them new SWIFFER Brooms ....I use it for my hardwood floors.... I have a sheep dog ...That sheds terribly.

The swiffer works great !

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

Vacuum it up.

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

A dust mop or a Swiffer Max. Getting them groomed often also reduces shedding.

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

What helps me is that I have babygates that restrict my dogs to 2 or 3 rooms in the house so they can not 'fluff' all over the house.

I also spend 1/2 hour brushing every day until it gets 'under control.' The Pyr really could use the right rake to get through his.

Maybe a grooming spray would help, too.

I swear my Aussie's hair floats and lands everywhere ! I find it up on the furniture !

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

i use a swiffer sweep and vac

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

get a micro fiber mop or swifer wet jet

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

Swiffer works wonders.

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

Unfortunately dogs shed and mine sheds year round. I have found that sweeping is the best way to get all the hair up. Sometimes when you use the vacuum on the hard wood floors it can cause a breeze and not pick up everything. Also swiffer has great products that really get the hair up. I usually sweep first and then swiffer, to cut costs.

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

The best way to get hair of of hard wood floors is to take a broom and sweep it up. Then you go over it with a damp swiffer that has always worked for me.

What is the best way to get dog hair off of hard wood floors?

swiffer sweeper ! it always works - spray the swiffer sweeper with a little pledge before hand.

How do you get rid of dog hair from the washer and dryer so that it wont show up on clothes from the

have 3 little dogs straight hair. always winds up on my socks etc. after washed and dryed,

How do you get rid of dog hair from the washer and dryer so that it wont show up on clothes from the machines?

You have to wipe it out of the washer with a cloth and run a spray spin rinse before you do your clothes

Better yet, get a separate washer to wash pet bedding, clothing, etc

The problem you are having is very common

How do you get rid of dog hair from the washer and dryer so that it wont show up on clothes from the machines?

you get rid of dogs or keep them outside

How do you get rid of dog hair from the washer and dryer so that it wont show up on clothes from the machines?

Buy clothes that match your dogs.

Or buy dogs that don't shed, like Poodles.

But since it probably isn't an option to swap out your dogs, pretend you don't notice the hairs. If anyone else does and actually cares, they are too petty to be good companions. Swap them instead for animal-lovers.

Sorry I can't give you a seriously helpful answer, but I've had pets for years, and have learned to, as the Serenity Prayer says, accept the things I cannot change.

But furry friends are worth it!

Where can i get a good dog hair dryer.?

I need a good hair dryer for my 4 dogs as it takes me ages to dry them with mine, can anyone tell me where i can get a hands free one that i can put on my grooming table and one that does not cost the earth.

Where can i get a good dog hair dryer.?

I just got a new one from hub international, they do sell the same one on ebay but not much cheaper. It is called the Metro Air force quick draw, around 鎷?0 excl. vat. I have three rough collies, and for 20 years I have struggled with my own hairdryer, and it took me literally hours to dry each dog. I am not exaggerating by saying it took literally 10 minutes to completely dry one dog after a bath, and she looked stunning afterwards, her coat taking on a different texture to when I have bathed her before. It works by actually forcing the water away from your dog, without the need for hot air which damages the coat, and there was a fine mist of water in the air around the dog as I dried her You can attach the dryer to a hook (which is supplied) underneath your grooming table, a wall etc, leave it free standing on the grooming table, or have the loop around your neck and wear like a handbag. There is a long hose with a couple of different attachments. Worth every penny, wish I had bought one years ago!

They used to have one in the Argos catologue. IT was in last years one so I am not sure if they still do them, its worth a look tho.

For short-hair dog owners?

Do you take your dog on trips to the groomers, or do you just give him a wipe down with a Quick Bath wipe? Why?

I do that, and it gets the job done. I also brush his teeth instead of waiting two hours for Petco to finish up. I'd probably just send him over for a nail clippin', though. Lolz.

For short-hair dog owners?

Bathe your dog when needed, you can use the wet doggy wipes for quick clean ups. For shedding the zoom groom works GREAT, they get a massage and you get all the loose hair off of them. Highly recommended!

For short-hair dog owners?

You don`t need to take a short haired dog to the groomers, you can look after him yourself. Even the nail clipping, if you make sure he does plenty of walking on pavements his nails shouldn`t need clipping. Short haired dogs need brushing regularly.

A long haired dog - one that doesn`t shed haired however, is probably best took to a groomers every 8-12 weeks.

For short-hair dog owners?

I wipe them down with a wet towel. I don't like things that you have to throw away, I like the to wash things, rather than fill up the landfill... A wet towel removes any dust and loose hair.. Quick brush with the rubber brush and they are good as new.

For short-hair dog owners?

i take mine to the groomers once a year, right before winter.

They hike and swim all summer, so any dirt and mud get swashed off that way.

So before winter i let the groomers do a good scrubbing, ear cleaning and nail clipping.

I could do the ears and nails, but i say, pick your battles..... my dogs only need the clipping maybe twice a year, as we walk so much. And they don't like it. I could make them sit through it, sure, but i really don't feel like it when there is someone whose job it is to do just that.

I don't brush teeth, my dogs eat raw meaty bones, and have the "cleanest teeth i have seen anywhere" says my vet.

For short-hair dog owners?

Go to your local pet shop %26amp; ask which is the best brush/comb for grooming, then use it weekly or more often. You can also clip the nails yourself, just cut beyond the quick. The pet shop should be able to instruct you on this.

I need help getting the dog hair under control!?

We have hard wood floors and two dogs. The hair is everywhere. I vaccuum every day. What can i do??? It is driving me insane. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I need help getting the dog hair under control!?

Try Brushing the dog down regularly. Or possibly giving the a trim less hair on the dog less hair around the room! lol

I need help getting the dog hair under control!?

trim the dogs, take them outside %26amp; brush them off everyday so there will be less in the house.

I need help getting the dog hair under control!?

Can't do much except keep the dogs outside if it's driving you that crazy. But regular brushing does really help. Make sure you have the right kind of brush though coz there are heaps of people with the wrong brush. Depending what breed you may have to brush every second day. Thats what i do with my husky and it reall does help. Thwere is a brush that looks like a metal fish scaller and it works a treat. Just get into a routine and your dog will actually enjoy it.

Also get your dogs washed professionally everyso ofter especially when shedding. The big blow dryers they use does wonders getting rid of all that spare hair your dogs have.

I need help getting the dog hair under control!?

Have you ever noticed how dog hair "sticks" to things? Furniture, material of any sort, right? Have you ever seen the draft guards to put on the floor in front of your doors?

In my tiled floor areas, I have placed one in the room in a random spot, because hair floats or moves around until it clings to something. Also, find a "pet broom" rather than a vaccuum. It is a special product that hair actually sticks to, and mine works! I have 5 dogs inside, with both short and long hair. I have also put felt on their crates, sides and top, because when the go in and out, as they run their bodies along the area-Viola! (No, I don't use the doors unless I absolutely need to, they are all trained.) I just use safety pins and tack it in place. When its hairy, I throw it out.

You will still need to sweep/vaccuum, but having areas that collect pet hair has worked for me. And brushing daily!!

I need help getting the dog hair under control!?

We too, have hard wood floors, a poor diet, confusing the dog with temps form inside your house(cooler) as to going outside(much warmer than inside of your house) worms, the list goes on of possible annyoing hair loss, Of course you dont want to wash it too often, brushing helps, oh yea and the vacuum! We use one on our dog, and oh it helps us! If your not sure about using one on your dogs, try talking to your dogs vet, they might have a soultion for you! Good luck and god bless! :)

I need help getting the dog hair under control!?

what kind of dog is it? and what food do you feed? better food means less sheding, you may need an upgrade....and if its a double coated breed that drops ever year (huskie, akita, some shep....ext) you may want to take him to the groomers (like myself) and have them blow the undercoat out with a force dryer (the greatest invention ever) if is fur looks like its coming out in chunks this is often the case....or if its REALLY thick before you brush and thinner after pulling alot of soft hairs out, this is probably the case....and if you have a short hair like a lab, buy a 'zoom groom' from a petstore and used it for 15min. out side every day or so...the more you brush cosistently the more the coat and skin will improve.

Where can i buy a hair trimmer for my dog?

If I shave my dog's hair, would it grow faster and thicker?

I duno if thats true, i juz heard it from my friends. I have an eskie puppy. Juz wondering if shaving actually will make my dogs hair grow faster and thicker.

If I shave my dog's hair, would it grow faster and thicker?

No, it will not. Shaving the hair has no affect on the follicle, which is where the hair starts growing.

If I shave my dog's hair, would it grow faster and thicker?

No. We have a Himalayan cat and we shave her. Fur comes back the same.

I disagree with Shadrack... not everyone lives in the great white north. I live in Florida and we shave our animals because they get TOO warm.

If I shave my dog's hair, would it grow faster and thicker?

Should come back the same

If I shave my dog's hair, would it grow faster and thicker?

no! you should not belive everything people tell you.....you should not shave your dogs hair around this time of the year anyway.......your dog will freeze

If I shave my dog's hair, would it grow faster and thicker?

No, and there's no guarantee how fast it will grow back. I had a friend that had a shepard/collie cross, and she clipped the hair real short in the summer. It still had not grown back in by winter, and the dog was so cold.

If I shave my dog's hair, would it grow faster and thicker?

Nope. Some breeds with thick double coats (like your eskie) will actually take years to regrow their coat to its normal texture and thickness. Please, do not ever shave your dog.

If I shave my dog's hair, would it grow faster and thicker?

No. It will grow back softer and with more of a tendency to mat.

If I shave my dog's hair, would it grow faster and thicker?

DEFINITELY NOT!!!!!! I have two dogs, one is a pit bull mix that i rescued from a shelter and she was recently spayed when i got her, so she was shaved down there, and her hair still hasn't grown back and it probably never will.....it's been a year and a half!!

Short hair dog prob?

my australian cattle dog has short heair but sheds like nothing else

what is the best brush for this???

any other thourghts welcome

thx guys n gals

Short hair dog prob?

First of all, make sure your dog is getting a good diet. Quality of diet can really affect the coat and skin.

I like to use a variety of tools. The main one is a slicker brush, either soft or hard depending on the thickness of the coat. I also like a fine-toothed comb. For a dog like yours there are also shedding rakes, rubber curry brushes (both the short bristles and the long Zoom Groom types), shedding blades, flea combs, the Coat King (or generic knock-off) and the Furminator. I will usually use a number of different tools on each dog, to get out the maximum hair.

A good warm bath with a lot of scrubbing (I like to use the Zoom Groom for scrubbing, as well as fingers), will help to loosen the dead hair and make it easier to brush out.

Other than that, you have a high-shedding breed. You can reduce the amount of shedding through frequent, thorough grooming but you can't eliminate it. Get used to the dust bunnies.....

Short hair dog prob?

cut it..

Short hair dog prob?

A hand mit is good. It gets rid of the hair, but also gives the dog a massage at the same time. Also, a very good vaccuum cleaner.

I have a short haired collie. Every time she shakes, it's like half her body comes off, with hair.

It's that bad, vaccuuming every day is a way of life in our house.

Short hair dog prob?

You can buy special combs for dogs that really get down into the layer of thick fur that cattle dogs have. Try buying from a pet shop or vet supply store. I had cattle dogs for years and found that this was one of the best. I also had a steel brush for grooming horses and this worked very well too but the comb is cheaper.

Short hair dog prob?

shedding blade like the one used on horses.... most people don't seem to understand,,, it is the shorter haired dogs that shed the most,,,, labs shepherds etc.....furmania

Short hair dog prob?

Give him the best dog food with lots of calcium, Minerals %26amp; Vitamins ( Ready to eat food). also try giving hin Butter or eating oil.

Short hair dog prob?

you should brush him with a brush with many bristles that are thin and you should massage his fur with shampoo that helps shedding and then brush him with that brush every day and after every bath good luck

Ever since i got colored contacts and new hightlights in my hair my dog....?

ok so today i got blonde highlights on my hair and i put on my new green colored contacts.anyways today i went outside to play with my dog and he barked and tried to bite me.he wouldn't let me pet him or even go near him.why is that?is it because i look diffrent?

Ever since i got colored contacts and new hightlights in my hair my dog....?

Did you do something different other than that? Dogs can't see color so that shouldn't have made a difference.

My dog barks at my husband when he has a baseball cap on, but that's cause he cannot see his face. My dog also barks at me and my oldest daughter when we have our hair wrapped in a towel. That's why I ask about you doing something different.

It could have been because of the smell of the hair color but as soon as you came up to him, he should have been able to smell that it was you. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Ever since i got colored contacts and new hightlights in my hair my dog....?

np Report It

Ever since i got colored contacts and new hightlights in my hair my dog....?

of course, plus you didn't come to him with a treat.

Ever since i got colored contacts and new hightlights in my hair my dog....?

Supposedly dogs do not see in color, so the change of your eye %26amp; hair color should have nothing to do with your dog's reactions,

Whenever I get highlights in my hair %26amp; started wearing glasses my dogs acted as if they didn't even notice.

Ever since i got colored contacts and new hightlights in my hair my dog....?

The dog is telling you that he prefers your natural beauty.

Ever since i got colored contacts and new hightlights in my hair my dog....?

this is a stupid question.

first of all dogs dont see color, so I know you made this question up.

are you some poor mexican girl who wishes she was white so she dyes her hair blonde and gets green contacts? get a life

Ever since i got colored contacts and new hightlights in my hair my dog....?

maybe the new smell of your hair since you got it dyed they have good sense but not good colour seeing

Ever since i got colored contacts and new hightlights in my hair my dog....?

look for another reason other than how you look.

since dogs see in black and white,so say the experts,i would think it has more to do with how you smell,no offense. since you had chemicals put in your hair, even with the extensive amount of shampooing and rinsing involved, there is still probably a small amount of odor lingering.

give it some time.

Ever since i got colored contacts and new hightlights in my hair my dog....?

They can see color, but they see much like a person with red-green colorblindness. Anyway even if dogs didn't see in color, you would still look different to him.

Maybe you ended up looking like somebody he didn't like?

But you still smell the same to him, he may just be confused and it may take him a little while to get used to it.

Where can I get dog hair knitted into a jumper?

I know this is a bit of a weird one but I'm asking on behalf of someone.... honest!

She adores her dogs and has been collecting their hair so that she can have a jumper knitted from it.

Does anyone out there know where she can go to get this done?

Where can I get dog hair knitted into a jumper?

I found this page that has links for people who want their dog hair prepared and spun.

http://dogs.suite101.com/article.cfm/che...

If they just make it into yarn, you can ask any elderly woman in your town if they can knit a jumper and pay her for it. I'm sure you'll find one who'll be happy to do it.

i think this is a little weird! although i've seen it on the telly before, someone had a blanket or something. No idea where though sorry.

Failing that, I'd find a small yarn company and ask them to make the yarn for me.

Added: I'm surprised at all the negative reactions. Sure, it's "out there", but I don't think anyone should be saying it's gross or immoral. We're not talking about skinning the dogs alive! Don't YOU guys wear woollen items? Sheep aren't immune from bugs and critters you know!

Where can I get dog hair knitted into a jumper?

I have to laugh at all the people who think this is gross and eww..what about fleas?

Do you not know where wool comes from that goes into sweaters? Umm..sheep who are filthy, have crap hanging off their butts, and smell! lol It all gets cleaned people.

I actually have a few customers who have me save their dogs hair everytime I groom them...they spin themselves tho.

No. I weren't advise it.

Where can I get dog hair knitted into a jumper?

I had the fur from my Samoyed spun into yarn. If you or her know someone who has sheep, alpacas or angora rabbits you could ask them to spin it or show her how to do it herself. Depending on the breed of dog it will make some really nice yarn. As for the knitting, she should learn how to do it herself. It will be much more satisfying than paying someone else to do it. One word of warning, if it gets wet it will smell like wet dog.

Ew.

That being said, you should contact a knitting company, local yarn manufacturer, weavers. These people can direct you (her)

And if she loves dogs so much, why would she be willing to steal their coats? It cruel and IT MAKES NO SENSE!

Where can I get dog hair knitted into a jumper?

EWWW.. What will you use for flea and tick preventative?

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

I have 2 dogs. A chocolate lab and she zu. I live in a 1800 sq ft house that has off white tile throughout the lab sheds so much that I have to sweep three times a day to just keep it somewhat under control If I miss one day the whole house will have this nice layer of hair on all the floor .

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

I vacuum up the fur, and I brush the dogs regularly.

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

All you can do is brush them frequently and make sure they are eating a quality diet.

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

It is true, all you can do is brush the dog as often as he/she will let you and vacuum/sweep up excess hair.

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

Really good food, lots of grooming and using the vacuum. One of these days I'll have to get the vacuum surgically removed LOL

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

yep, bassetnut is right.

i have 6 dogs, and minimal dog hair(cat hair from 4 cats, 2 longhair is another matter)

i feed raw, and they swim all the time and get brushed, so i dont really see dog hair like i used too when i fed dogfood.

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

The best thing you can do is brush them regularly and get them professionally groomed more often.

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

If you do not already own one, buy a rubber curry brush at the pet supply store. Brush that Lab daily, outside or in the garage with that curry brush then brush it with a slicker brush. This will remove the dead hair (which is what you are cleaning up all the time). Labs do shed a lot and then because we keep our pets inside with us, they don't go through the 'normal' growing of a winter coat then spring shedding.

Vacuum daily as well as sweeping and brushing the dogs.

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

I have a golden retriever, a shih tzu, and a chihuahua and a house that has white linoleum in the entrance and kitchen, and blue carpeting in my living room/bedroom. Both the retriever and the shihtzu shed but I've found if you're careful about what they are eating (no foods or treats that are mainly wheat flour and soy) and you brush them frequently they shed a whole lot less than they would if you never groomed them and fed them crappy food. I can now get away with sweeping my floors once a day (this is on bad days) at most!

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

1). Brush more often.

2). Feed a higher quality food, it'll reduce shedding.

3). My fiance just bought a Roomba for me...it is wonderful! I just set it running when I leave for the day and there is no dog hair when I come hom (we have wood floors).

How do you control dog hair inside your home?

lol hair is our friend!

Be glad you only have 2 smaller dogs.yes i view labs as small lol

I currently have 3 rottweilers, a great pyrenees, a st bernard,3 pitbulls and 2 bulldog in the house, most are fosters and all are snoring in various rooms of the house and when I get them they shed badly..

I have hair everywhere during shedding season ,ya learn to live with alot of it but to keep the shedding down switch to a high quality diet ,ie ditch that dry kibble junk and feed a raw based diet.It will reduce all shedding but the seasonal which the dogs must go thru.

Kibble is basically cattle feed ie corn, rice, wheat with very little real meat in it and that causes a dog to shed,it will also give the lab that stinky lab smell too.

A proper raw based diet will leave your house pretty hair free most of the year

How to stop my dog from shedding hair!?

my dog Red is a 10 month old pit bull terrier. his dog hairs shed and end up all over the house.. what can i do? best way 2 clean it up ?

How to stop my dog from shedding hair!?

even short hair dogs need grooming.

there are many kinds of grooming tools for short haired dogs at the pet shops.

also, you may try shaving your dog ones in a while.

this help get rid of loose hair.

good luck

How to stop my dog from shedding hair!?

There is nothing that you can really do since it is a short hair dog, but my pit mix sleeps on the couch and we use the vaccum or a lint roller to get her hair off. Good Luck

How to stop my dog from shedding hair!?

you should brush him daily and make sure hes not under a lot of stress

How to stop my dog from shedding hair!?

You can't stop it.

You can reduce it with regular brushing and a healthy diet. But you can't stop it completely.

How to stop my dog from shedding hair!?

If you can figure that one out, you could get a patent and become rich!!!! You cannot stop an animal from shedding. It is a normal part of life for them, just like eating and sleeping. As far as cleaning, do what you normally do, just more often. Vacuum, dust, things like that.

How to stop my dog from shedding hair!?

I know what you are going through. I have two golden retrievers who shed like crazy in the summer! I see hairballs floating across the floor all the time! And I think I will never be able to wear black (or any dark color) without making sure I have my lint brush in my purse!

First off, there are chewable pills for dogs you can buy (about $10) that may lessen the amount of hair that is shedded. I have some of those, but I don't see a noticeable difference. If you want to buy them, they are located next to the dog vitamines in your local pet store. Some of the pills are high in omega fatty acids (very good for your dog's coat and skin!).

Brushing is the best way to eliminate hair all over the place. But you have to do it on a regular basis. There are special brushes for grooming that gets the loose hair before it falls out. They are a little pricey, but worth it.

There are also grooming mittens that dog owners can use that collect the hair. Put it on your hand while you give Red a rub down and it will grab up some of the fur that is falling out. It is alright, but I wouldn't reccommend it.

What it boils down to is that Red is going to shed. As for cleaning it up, you have got to do it on an every-other-day basis. For some typed of aplostry, try using masking tape to pull up the hair. Other times a lint brush does great. Vaccum vaccum vaccum. Good luck!

How to stop my dog from shedding hair!?

Brush him daily with a shedding blade. They work great.

How to stop my dog from shedding hair!?

Try using a "furminator" once a day. It'll cut down on that shedding like mad, the things really work. You can buy them on Amazon.

How fast does dog hair grow?

i totally just tryed to cut my dads dogs hair and i cut it way!!! to short!!!!!!!!

hpw fast does it grow back?

hes a black lab

How fast does dog hair grow?

a lab has short hair, why would you even attempt that??? Wait.. I dont want to know..

How fast does dog hair grow?

Most dogs hair grows fully back in two weeks. black lab will take about one week to look good(not too long) just what you want it to look like.

How fast does dog hair grow?

Big dogs such as labs, huskies, and golden retrievers usually take a long time to grow their hair back.

Small dogs like shih tzu's grow it out quickly.

How fast does dog hair grow?

I have a lab and she is short hair and it grows like 1 cm per year!

How fast does dog hair grow?

It's like this - if you want it to grow back quickly it will be very slow. If you like the trim and want it to last a long time - it will grow out quickly.

That's just life.

Medicine for my dog so his hair grows back?

i have a mini pom and had him shaved last summer and his hair wont grow back. has this happened to anyone else? if so, how did you get your dogs hair to grow back?

Medicine for my dog so his hair grows back?

Medicine for my dog so his hair grows back?

Well its never happend to my dog(doberman) but there is a medicine. I dont know what its called but groomers sometimes use it on show dogs. it helps thier hair grow back but it takes 3 years off their life.

Medicine for my dog so his hair grows back?

What are you feeding?

I have a chi with chronic baldness. I switched her food and her hair started coming back. Plus it's a lot softer now and she sheds less.

Check out www.mybestfriendsbowl.com

Medicine for my dog so his hair grows back?

rougaine might help

Medicine for my dog so his hair grows back?

Sorry to tell you but sometimes when you shave a Pomeranian it can kill the hair follicle causing the hair to grow in frizzy and uneven. It will probably never grow back to way it was prior to getting him shaved. This happens with Chow Chow's, American Eskimo's, Samoyed's, Rough Collies, Shetland sheep dogs, and Siberian Husky's too. I have no clue why this happens to those breeds but it does happen.

You could try adding some "missing link" to your dogs food. Not sure if it will really help but it might.

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

I sometimes get on my knees and scrub the carpet (square metre by square metre) with a rubber bristled dog brush, then vacuum, repeat and vacuum... but it takes hours. Therefore it doesn't happen often; -and therefore it's worse again when I eventually get around to trying the next time.

I have a good vacuum cleaner, but it won't get the hairs out until they are loosened first.

I need carpet for sound control, and I can't/ won't keep the dogs outdoors.

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

Try a carpet rake. They sell them at flooring stores, made for keeping the carpet from getting matted down in high traffic areas but work great at pulling all the hair to the surface..

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

DYSON vacuum ,,,,, will work,, really it will

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

a lent roller..lol

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

Vacuum daily. or twice a day.

Get rid of the carpet. I did. Now have either wood or vinyl. No place for hair or dust to hide now. I love it.

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

first off what type of carpet do you have?

also what type of dog do you have?

we had a major problem with our dog shedding and we started giving her fish oil in her food to help her from shedding and it really helped. This may not be your problem but it may help with the shedding.

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

sophylak is correct get a dyson they have made one specifically for pet hair it is call the animal....it is very pricey though!!

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

put on a pair of pumps or trainers, start in one corner and lightly scrape the floor repeatedly in one direction with one foot. All the hairs clump together and you can work them all the way to the other side of the room in a big ball.

It used to be our daily ritual, but you do get one calf muscle bigger than the other.

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

in addition to what everyone else answered, try brushing your dogs every day while outside. this should reduce the amount of hair that falls out inside. also, they sell powders that you can apply to your carpet and let sit for a few minutes. they are supposed to help loosen the pet hair to make it easier to vaccum but i'm not sure how effective they are

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

a Hover Vacuum cleaner.

How do you get dog hair out of carpet?

Mr. Dyson has met his match at our house! We have 14 Huskies that live inside with us. But under normal circumstances the Dyson Animal does a better job than most. It retails at about $500.

Shop Vacs work great on wood and vinyl.

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

Other animals are covered with fur, but are dogs and cats covered with hair? What's the difference between hair and fur?

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

Fur is hair. Anything that grows out of a hair follicle on a living thing is hair. Animals all have hair, but we often call some of it fur to describe the different texture of it on certain animals. Animals with softer, thicker hair are often called "furry", but it's still all just hair!

PS - allergies are not caused by hair/fur/whatever! Human allergies to dogs or cats are reactions to the animal's dander (dead skin) and/or saliva.

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

becuase when you think fur....fur is fluffy

but hair is more course

not as soft but still soft

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

I think because animals with fur are used to make fur coats. You do not make a "hair coat" and dogs and cats are not used to make coats, at least in the US so they have "hair."

That is the only thing I can think of!

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

Fur refers to a coat.

Most dogs do have fur. Some breeds have hair and are dander free, shed little to none, and you can always tell which breed has what type of coat as the dogs with hair must be continually clipped as their hair grows as ours do.

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

Well if you really think about it, fur and hair are pretty much the same

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

actually the "fur" on a dog is called hair. why? i dont have a clue, same with cats.... one of those strange things we do in the english language i suppose.

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

because we have a tendency to "humanize" out pets therefor they have hair like we do not fur like animals

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

Maybe the same reason I call my dogs paws "feet" sometimes

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

The texture but you can call it either.

Why do we call it dog HAIR instead of dog FUR?

Some hyperallergenic dogs (yorkies, greyhounds etc.) have hair, and that is why they do not trigger allergies. Whereas dogs with fur (pomeranians, labs etc.) do trigger allergies because their hair is thick and contains more dander.

Allergic to cat fur and some dog hair but OK with other types of dog hair.?

I have a really bad reaction when I'm around cats or in a house where cats live, and I've discovered that I'm fine around some dogs but not others. Are some dogs hair like cats fur?

If not why would I be allergic to some and not others?

Allergic to cat fur and some dog hair but OK with other types of dog hair.?

Some dogs have fur . . . while some dogs have hair which has a similar genetic structure to your own (silky haired terrier) you are probably allergic to fur.

Allergic to cat fur and some dog hair but OK with other types of dog hair.?

You know what? I have no idea, but I have the same problem as you. I think it has something to do with the length and thickness of their hair, also, I don't think dogs malt as much as cats do.

Allergic to cat fur and some dog hair but OK with other types of dog hair.?

Some breeds of animals don't produce as much of the allergen on the skin (dander) and proteins in the saliva that you are allergic to. That is why you have less of a problem with some than you do with others.

I don't know about dogs, but with cats the Sphinx and the Rex breeds are supposedly better tolerated by allergy sufferers for these reasons.

Allergic to cat fur and some dog hair but OK with other types of dog hair.?

guess what ? your not allergic to fair at all , its the salava from the cats mouth that carrys your allergy ( and certain dogs too) when the cat licks its fair it leaves this translucant salava all over its fair which then gets dropped all over the house.

so a dog that doesnt malt or have a thick hair is best for you . sorry about the cats most are pretty much the same the only thing you can do to make life easier is to constantly hoover the shed hairs up or atleast every day goodluck.

Allergic to cat fur and some dog hair but OK with other types of dog hair.?

Try bee pollen. It worked for someone I know.

Allergic to cat fur and some dog hair but OK with other types of dog hair.?

Well, dogs don't have much haid as cats. But, it doesn't matter what kind of dog it is. If your allergic to dogs, your allergic to dogs.

Ask a doctor

Allergic to cat fur and some dog hair but OK with other types of dog hair.?

I have the same problem. Sometimes it has to do with how long I am around them.

Allergic to cat fur and some dog hair but OK with other types of dog hair.?

some dogs (such as yorkshire terriers and poodles) dont moult their hair so it wouldnt be falling out to aggravate an allergy.

Other dogs only moult a couple of times a year so you may be OK with them when they are not moulting

Others shed their hair continuously.

Have you noticed if your allergy is worse with certain breeds of dog?

Allergic to cat fur and some dog hair but OK with other types of dog hair.?

You can definitely be allergic to some breeds of dogs but not others. Three of my family suffer from allergies to pets; none of us are allergic to a female Golden Retriever we know; one of us is allergic to a friend's poodle, and two of us are allergic to another friend's spaniel.......yet again all of us are allergic to my friend's Flat Coat Retriever!

Apparently female dogs (bitches of course) are less likely to cause allergies than male dogs because their dander is less concentrated.

Help! dog hair driving me nuts!?

Help! dog hair driving me nuts!?

I think you should just let your animals be outside pets. if there small animals let them stay in a small area in the house with a baby pin around him.

Help! dog hair driving me nuts!?

Groomers have special hoses %26amp; such to get all the excess hair off; it's like a vacuum thing. Also, it may be shedding season for them so give them baths %26amp; try to brush the extra hair off, if the dogs or cats have long hair perhaps it's time for a cut ?

Could Dog Hair Mess Up the Pools Filtering System?

i have a golden retriever and she swims in the pool a lot...our pool recently turned green and the pool man couldnt figure a way to clean it...i was wondering if this is caused by my dogs hair and could it clog up the filters?

Could Dog Hair Mess Up the Pools Filtering System?

It can if you don't clean the filters, but thousands of dogs swim in pools every day. Just clean the filters every week. It had nothing to do with the pool turning green.

Could Dog Hair Mess Up the Pools Filtering System?

yes there hair sheds and may get clogged

Could Dog Hair Mess Up the Pools Filtering System?

your pool guy probaly wasn't keeping enough clorine in the pool. dog hair will mainly get caught in the baskets.

Could Dog Hair Mess Up the Pools Filtering System?

Don't blame your algae on your pup :)))))

You'd know if the filter got clogged.

Could Dog Hair Mess Up the Pools Filtering System?

a dog is = 50 dirty people

this is why your pool turned green because of the dirt

thats what are pool men told us anyways, the 1st time my dog went in for 5 mins and then the pool men came the next day and the pool was green and the 1st question he asked was had a dog been in there and we're like yes why and he said because dogs make pools very dirty

My dog has serious hair problems!! Please help!!?

Okay, I need some serious help. My dogs hair is always

a. matted

or

b. knotted.

We brush her everyday. She has long , fluffy hair. She just got her ears shaved off because they were matted. What should I do? Help!!

What I don't need is someone telling me I don't take care of her, because I do, and I know that!

I just brushed her for half an hour trying to get the knots out and it didn't help. I got about half of them out.

I don't need any thing rude, maybe just some brushing tips and stuff.

Thanks!

My dog has serious hair problems!! Please help!!?

Here are a few suggestions:

1. cut her hair short. Just because her breed is a long-haired breed, that doesn't mean that she can't have a short and sassy hair-cut! :) It'll be easier to care for, and she'll probably be more comfortable than having to endure daily tangle/mat removal.

2. take her to a professional groomer and let them work their magic on her. They have techniques and products that can help resist matting.

3. go to the local PetSmart and ask the groomers there what they would recommend. They're usually pretty helpful when it comes to directing you to the right dog brushes, shampoos, and conditioners to help keep your dog's coat shiny and mat-free.

My dog has serious hair problems!! Please help!!?

You don't say what kind of dog you have and you say you "had her ears shaved off", not exactly good communication skills geared to get polite answers.

Take her to a groomer (I assume your poor dog still has ears, if not, take her to a vet).

Watch what the groomer does to get some idea as to how to keep your dog's coat from getting into such a bad state.

My dog has serious hair problems!! Please help!!?

I agree that tips from a professional groomer might be helpful.

Now, while I normally don't suggest such things, you might want to find a conditioner for your dog's fur so it won't tangle and mat so easily. I'm sure your dog and you would appreciate the difference.

Good luck!

My dog has serious hair problems!! Please help!!?

I would use some good dog hair conditioner after baths, but knots always tighten up after you give them a bath so first I would use a good spray on leave in conditioner and spray each knot and gently try to brush it out (the matts will have to be cut off). Try spraying with the conditioner every time you brush the dogs hair. Try to get it as good as possible then cut off anything you were not able to get untangled, then you may have to give or get your dog a shorter haircut for her to look right (get rid of the gaps in the hair). After the haircut I would immediately start using both conditioners. Good luck!

My dog has serious hair problems!! Please help!!?

I have the same issues so it's not just you!

I find there are 2 options

1. take them to the groomer (or do it yourself) about every 2 months.

2. get a really good shampoo and conditioner to lessen the knots.

My dog has serious hair problems!! Please help!!?

please email me with the breed and if possible a picture I am a professional groomer and might be able to help
