What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

i have 2 boxers that i cant keep off my furniture, thus leaving dog hair everywhere. What is the best way to remove the dog hair and also is there anything that i can apply to my furniture so the dog hair doesnt stick so bad?

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

Get rid of the dogs.

Buy new furniture.

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

try using a special lint roller made for dog hair removing, you could put a plastic thing on your couchbut it'd be like going to an old person's house

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

I'm going through the same thing. I have two white Jack Russells. We are getting ready to but new furniture and we are going to put covers on them. That way you can pull them off and wash them. I use a Scotch Brite sticky roller. One of the big huge ones. You can find them at lots of stores. They work awesome for rugs and stuff. Good Luck. I know what you are going through.

Someone sent me this today:

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS-

1. They live here you don't

2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes stay off the funiture. (that's why they call it "fur-niture.)

3. I like my pets more than I like most people

4. To you it's an animal but to me he/she is an son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours, and doesn't speak clearly.

I've found the absolute easiest way is to use the vacuum brush attachment on the furniture. Those sticky lint/hair rollers and lint brushes also work pretty well. The problem with the sticky ones for me is it takes too many sheets. Recently I found this "brush" that has soft rubber bristles that works very well. I got it in the pet section of the grocery store -- so I'm sure you could find one almost anywhere.

I don't know of anything you can apply to the furniture other than towels or blankets. There is a product some groomers offer (that I'm sure you can also buy) called shed ender or something to that effect that you can use when shampooing your dog. It's supposed to reduce shedding -- but I've never tried it.

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

they make these rubber brushes that can be used on the dogs and on the furniture! they have little rubber bristles, and then on the side it is flat so you can use it like a scraper. they sell them at petco and even walmart i think.

heres a link to one. they work great and i have a pit mix so i bet he has similar hair to your boxers!

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

I bought a flat sheet from Walmart that is the same color as my couch. It was only about $3-$4. I tuck the sheet in so it fits almost like a slipcover over the cushions. When it gets full of hair, I just pull it off and throw it in the washing machine. Once it's dry, it goes right back on the couch.

As for cleaning the furniture before you cover it, I use a brush from a company called Meguiar's. It's designed for a car, but works just as well on my couch. http://www.meguiars.com/?car-interior-br... The rubber bristles pull the hair right off the furniture and I follow up with a good vacuum to pull all the laggers off.

Hope this helps!

Wal Mart has a cool sponge that pet hair just gravitates towards, it is reusable so its less waste than a lint roller, i love it

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

I'm not sure this will address your current issue, but once you get the hair off, trying putting a blanket or towel on the area the dog normally sits. I keep a blanket over 2 cushions on mine and just wash that regularly. By looking at the furniture you'd never know he was there!

(I have a Boxer too)

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

I have a Siberian Husky in Florida, so I'm quite familiar with getting dog hair out of furniture :-) The best thing that works for us is the vacuum. The lint rollers work well, but take so many sheets to get the job done.

A cover of some sort would keep the hair out of the furniture, but you pretty much have to wash it as frequently as you'd have to clean the cover-less furniture, so It's really a personal choice.

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

a damp sponge is a quick way to get pet hair off the furniture and clothes. the sponge will need to be toss away because it will be hard to remove hair from it. but the sponges are cheap enough to buy a lot. it's a quick. then you can use the sticky brush or a rubber mitt design for removing hair from pet and furniture

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

ok you have small dogs so that makes the work easier lol

( I have mastiffs, rottweilers, great pyrenees, pits and bulldogs all in my house so I understand dog hair LOL)

the cheapest and easiest and actually one of the best dog hair removers is a latex dish washing glove, slip it on and rub over the furniture, it rolls the hair out and pulls it out better then a brush, vacuum or adhesive roller.

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

Use the same type of lint roller that you would use on your clothing. Try putting a blanket over the couch, so the hair doesn't stick to your furniture. Wash the blanket, and presto!

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

you can try lint rollers etc... but the best thing I found was sticky tape

What is the best way to remove dog hair from furniture?

Get a rubber brush. You should be able to get it in the pet section at walmart. They work well. Then once you get it clean you have to cover the furniture or teach them not to go on the Furniture. I don't have that problem. My Schnauzer brings sticks in the house and hide.

A simple pair of rubber gloves do the trick very well.

I have a static brush for hair on furniture...got it at wal-mart works well

Poodles and dog hair dye?

I'm planning on getting a baby girl toy poodle in the spring and I was wondering if anyone can give me some good and bad things about poodles so I can make sure. I have a chihuahua too - how might they get along?

Also- does anyone know of groomers in PA who do dog hair dye? I want a pink poodle, and I know the dye is safe and it washes out in about a month. Don't say negative things about it, because I know what I'm doing and that's not the question I'm asking.

Thanks very much :]

Poodles and dog hair dye?

Well, poodles on the good side are extremely intelligent dogs that don't shed very much. They tend to have a good attitude, and are fairly non aggressive.

The only bad side I can think of is that they require some maintanence with their hair, or else it gets messy. I don't live in PA, but I would certainly think that looking in the yellow pages could help, or going to a local pet groomer, and asking some information on it.

Your chihuahua may get a little jealous, so try introducing them gently, and give both an equal amount of love so they don't hate each other. Goodluck! :3

Poodles and dog hair dye?

i used to have a toy poodle.

she peed everywere and we ended up having to give her away becuase she was always so hyper and it was impossible to potty train.

Poodles and dog hair dye?

i did not really read the first part of the question... but i think they use kool-aid... it is not bad for them and.... not too long ago i found out that vinegar helps it stay in longer...lol long story.

Poodles and dog hair dye?

YOU SICK PARIS HILTON B|TCH. Get yourself a teddy bear ho. Don't be an animal toy owner. Selfish and ridiculous.

Have yourself a baby and dye it pink instead.

Poodles and dog hair dye?

I think when they dye poodle's hair they use food coloring so it won't harm the dog with harsh chemicals.

Poodles and dog hair dye?

A chi and a poodle will get along ok.

I dont know any groomers in PA.... I do know that you can dye your dog with food coloring or koolaid tho.. just mix with dog conditioner, rub into your dog's coat.. leave it in for about 10 - 15 mins, then rinse. It wont harm your dog.

Actually Peta is an extreme animal rights group. In all reality, they dont even want us having pets. They honestly feel dogs and cats should be running free, and are better off dead than to be enslaved in our homes.

Paris Hilton deserves the worst pet owner award. She seems to buy a new puppy every time she buys a new handbag. Remember when Tinkerbell was "lost"? Turns out she had left him at her mother's and forgot he was there! Her pets are nothing more than cute fashion accessories. She gave Tinkerbell to her mother when she got another Chi.. her reason for giving up Tinkerbell was because he was "too big".

Dose cat or dog hair cause sikness? If yes what how and why.?

my dad says dogs dont belong inside beacause their hair makes you infertile and makes u sick so i want to know. this could finally lead to me getting a dog so plz post.

Dose cat or dog hair cause sikness? If yes what how and why.?

As far as I know dog hair does not make you infertile. However, a lot of people have serious allergies to pet dander (carried in the animal's fur) that cause coughing, sneezing, and itchy and watery eyes. So your dad is sort of right- but only if someone in your house is allergic to dogs.

Dose cat or dog hair cause sikness? If yes what how and why.?

The only sickness dog or cat hair can bring on is allergies. Also, if you're already asthmatic, it may exacerbate the situation, but it will not CAUSE asthma. Your dad apparently just doesn't want a dog in the house. Or he's very, very, very ill-informed. Cat litter can be a problem if someone is already ill with a lowered immunity or if someone is pregnant, but otherwise, the litter is not a problem either.

Dose cat or dog hair cause sikness? If yes what how and why.?

Pet hair can contribute to symptoms if you have alergies, however it cannot cause anyone to be infertile. If you're thinking about getting a dog, make sure before-hand that you are not allergic. You can test this by spending some time with a friend's dog before you get your own. Good luck!!! =D

Dose cat or dog hair cause sikness? If yes what how and why.?

Your dad is a fool if he believes that.

Animal DANDER may cause an allergic reaction in some individuals, but as for their hair - that's about it.

How to clean dog hair off a cloth headliner?

I have a 95 Buick station wagon that the previous owners obviously used to haul their dog in, so in the cargo area the cloth headliner is COVERED in dog hair. I thought I should try to vacuum or take tape and pull it off but then I thought it may mess up the adhesive holding the headliner on. what would you recommend?

How to clean dog hair off a cloth headliner?

Masking tape. Use it like a glove in the palm of your hand. Just keep patting down the area and change the tape as required until gone. Those lint rolls work too but sometimes hard to hit contours in the liner. Best part is no clean up afterwards either.

Hope this helps and good luck.

How to clean dog hair off a cloth headliner?

I would go with the tape or a lint roller.

How to clean dog hair off a cloth headliner?

tape

How to clean dog hair off a cloth headliner?

Use a lint roller they work great

How to clean dog hair off a cloth headliner?

Try using a lint brush that has the sticky stuff on it.

How to clean dog hair off a cloth headliner?

go to walgreens and buy a 2 pack of lint brushes. they only cost 2 dollars and it works great. hope it helps. plus if you wear alot of black like i do. it helps you out too!

How to remove dog hair from ur bed skool books coats?

my dog is a black lab pretty as she can b but she wont quit sheeding and i'm finding hair even when i'm not at my house what could i use or do to prevent more hair to show up every were cause i know i cant get her to complety stop but i just want to know what i can do or buy

How to remove dog hair from ur bed skool books coats?

Okay, I found this out. The cheap 1-2 dollar double sided brushes are great to clean hair from the bed. It has soft bristles on one side and hard on other, us the soft side and sweep one swipe, may need to repeat. Masking tape wrapped around three fingers for small things (books) With coats, just the rolly things, Try the shed ender or LoShed spray to slow shedding brush twice daily outside so hair isn't in house Lowers the amount on you.

How to remove dog hair from ur bed skool books coats?

Try one of those lint roller things with the sticky paper. They work pretty well, but get refills. You'll run through a lot.

How to remove dog hair from ur bed skool books coats?

brush it

How to remove dog hair from ur bed skool books coats?

Try lint rollers for the stuff, and brush her daily to cut down the shedding.

How to remove dog hair from ur bed skool books coats?

Daily, thorough brushing as well. When you bathe her, use a hair dryer that isn't hot, it is cool and is strong enough to blow out the under coat on this dog. Go to a place where you can bathe the dog yourself and they should have one of these high power blowers, it doesn't hurt the dog. Also you can gently vacuum your dog at home if he allows it. I trained my dog to enjoy this after the vacuuming was complete he'd get a liver treat.

How to remove dog hair from ur bed skool books coats?

First brush her daily that will minimize the shedding. Second they sell dog food that helps reduce shedding so try that or a vitamin for skin and coat. Keep a lint roller handy as well. Give your dog a good bath then brush her good. This will also loosten the hair and make it easier to brush it out. You can use a pet mitt which works great on short haired breeds as well as a brush. Hope this helps!

What to do about dog hair & dander?

i've had my first dog(yellow lab) about 2 1/2 weeks...and i think i'm allergic to him! :-(

does anyone have any suggestions for over the counter non-drowsy medications for animal allergies? also, if i give him a bath more often(once a week right now) would that help me? i have always had a severe allergy towards cats, but never noticed one towards dogs. however, i guess since i'm actually living 24/7 with one, it would show up. sigh.

also, my dog's hair is showing up everywhere. how do i control it? my vacuum won't pick up any of it. if i purchase a brush, should i brush him every day to help control it? i just need a few hints, thanks! :-)

What to do about dog hair %26amp; dander?

Sounds like you just really want to get rid of the dog. If you are allergic, you can't be the one who's got to bathe and brush the dog daily, or you will be miserable. You are in for many years of dog-hair EVERYWHERE.

There are roller lint brushes at Wal-mart that are HUGE. That's what we use on large furniture and the carpet. They make many different styles %26amp; sizes of roller brush. Basically it's just backwards masking tape. Works great.

Maybe you can make an appointment to find out for sure if you are allergic, and if so.. are you into taking allergy meds for the next 10-18 years? Perhaps you can get a shot for the allergy, but again, is that worth it for you?

Good Luck.

What to do about dog hair %26amp; dander?

a lab would not have been a good choice since they are well know to be very heavy shedders....

KONG ZOOM groom is the BEST brush for this type of dog - use is circular motions or have somebody brush him for you... a groomer can bathe and shed the dog out.. this will make a HUGE difference...

the food you give him will impact on his shedding as well.... the lower quality foods like ALL from grocery or Wal Mart have so much filler in them they do not help with skin and coat heath.. go to a pet supply store and look for a better food (in Canada I suggest NUTRAM) - (in USA I suggest Notro natural choice or better -. Innova, Canidae, Wellness)

your doctor can give you allergy shots which are better than over the counter stuff

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

Some breeds never need cutting. But when I did have my lab's hair cut, it grew back to just the same length as before. How does dog hair "know" how long to grow?

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

Well, I really don't know. But, the same question could be asked about our own bodies. Why does hair grow only so long on my arms, but much longer on my legs and underarms -if I let it.

Why don't we have to cut our eyelashes or eyebrows but we do have to cut the hair on our heads. They are not that far apart.

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

That's the difference between "hair" and "fur". Hair just grows and grows. Fur has a cycle, it grows for a certain amount of time, then the follicle goes dormant, the hair falls out, the follicle wakes up and grows a new hair. That's why dogs with a "furcoat" like a Lab shed so much, but dogs with a "haircoat" like Yorkies and Poodles don't shed but must have haircuts.

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

It's not hair, it's fur. Hair can continue growing, but fur has a specific length which it can grow to. And yes, this means that some hair on the human body is actually fur.

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

they shed

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

The fur doesn't exactly "know" when to stop growing.

First of all, dogs FUR is different than hair. It will grow to the certain length that the breed has adapted it to be than fall out. The fur is replaced by new follicles and it is repeated.

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

It's like eyebrows and arm hair!

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

its all up to genetics

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

that's how some dogs are bread. If they were in nature, they would need that length of hair for whatever reason, or certain body adaptations to whatever environment they're in. Even though pet dogs are domesticated, they still need to be able to survive in the wild if they had to. Think of why someone may have darker skin, because of the climate they live in.

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

Genetics tells a dog's fur how long it should grow to. Just like genetics tells a dog's eyes what colour they will be etc..

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

It's in their genetics, but also for what their environment was. For instance, the St. Bernard is strong and muscular, with long hair and deep undercoating. Well, they are strong and muscular, because they first lived in the mountains where they were used to pull carts, and work for humans. Their long hair/undercoat, is because of the tempertures they were bred into. It was always very cold, so the dogs needed to be warm, so they could use their body heat, to rescue people, and save them from the elements, by putting their warm body, overtop of someone needing help in the deep snow. Living outdoors in the harsh weather, the St. Bernard will "blow" their hair in the spring and again in fall. Huge amounts of hair come out, you vacumm daily with this dog. Labs are water dogs, and their hair allows the water to shed off of them, you'll notice their hair feels just a bit greasy, not alot, but their is oil there. I always had Labs growing up, playing in the water. Now with my St. she doesn't know how to swim, it's very weird for me, after Labs all my life. She would have drowned, had my daughter and I not been close by when she jumped in. She was clueless about water, and what to do!

Why does hair on a dog only grow so long?

Never heard of GENETICS,huh?

duh?

Still living in a mud hut, too?
