Is there some type of vacuum hair right off the dog rather than brushing??

I have a masteefe and she sheds alot. Is there some type of vacuum that gets the hair before its on the carpet. Like some type of low power vacuum that you can just like vacuum the dog hair like a brush but it sucks.

I use my vacuum on my rottweilers regularly. I use the wand attachment with the brush. They seem to enjoy it, but it took awhile to get them comfortable with the idea... It seems to help some.

I had a Chow Chow who loved being vacuumed. Whenever we got the vac out for the carpets, he'd come right up to me and sit in front of me. As I moved around the house, vacuuming, he'd follow me around until I attached the handheld brush to the hose, and "brushed" him with it. It worked well, because the brush attachment brushed out his fur, but since it was attached to the vacuum, it also sucked the hair away. I think he liked it because it kinda massaged his skin...
