Static gaurd. If you spray it lightly on your carpets before vacuuming the hair lifts off much easier and you can also use static gaurd sheets on your clothes and i is less likely to stick.
Feed your dog a food with no more then 2 grains listed in the first 5 ingredients and it will cut down on the excessive shedding.

I have two cats and a dog, so I have just accepted the fact that I am going to be living with pet hair, no matter what I do. But to help reduce the amount of hair in my house I groom and brush my pets often. I have to vacuum and sweep often. And I have a ton of the sticky lint rollers. I have a very big one for the couches, and I have a small one for our clothes.

You could use a lint roller or something of the sorts .

Grooming your dog regularly with a shed blade and a rubber curry brush will make a big difference. You can get both at the pet store. Do it outside, since you'll get a LOT of hair off. The more you get off outside, the less there is to get all over the house, you, the car...
A damp sponge does a good job of taking hair off of clothes, upholstery, etc.
Wrapping some tape, sticky side out, around your hand works well to get dog hair off, too.
Or you can just decorate and dress in colors that match your dog, then you can't see the hair!

My dogs don't shed, but I've heard that the "furminater" (sp?) comb/brush works well to remove excess hair from dogs %26amp; cats. That may help reduce the amount of hair sticking to things.
