What is the best vaccuum that picks up dog hair/pet hair?

I bought a new vacuum back in June....I read the Consumer Reports rating.

They had rated the Kenmore vac $350 as #1 for pet hair. Next was the Eureka Boss SmartVac as #2 $150.

I bought the Eureka and I love it. I have two Ragdolls, and they shed like crazy. I vacuum about two-three times a week.

It rates higher for pet hair than the Dyson Animal, and it costs far less. Of course, I've never used a Dyson, so I have no way to really compare, but I didn't want to spend that much on a vacuum!

Not sure if it楹搒 the best , Dyson animal , I have a Dyson , no pet楹搒. But my daughter has a dog and when ever they come to visit her lovely dog Naika , always leaves her hairs behind. Once I pass the my vacuum, you would never guess the dog had been here. Also the Dyson it楹搒 great for hard floors , all carpets , no bag , easy to remove and clean filter. Wash under water and leave to dry for 12 hrs. None of this buying a new filter every 3 months, Also if anyone in your family suffers from allergies. For what it's worth, Consumer Reports rates the Kenmore Progressive with Direct Drive (35922) as the best upright vaccuum cleaner. It rated alot better then the Dyson.

I would definately say the Electrolux pet lover, I've tried all the dysons with no luck (they do lose suction!) and now love my electrolux which I've had for nearly a year.

I have a lurcher who leaves so much dog hair behind you wouldn't believe!

I agree with a couple of the people that already have answered. We have 6 dogs and we have a Dyson Animal it is the best vaccum in the world... We had just a standard upright and we always thought the floor was clean untill we used a Dyson! It works wonders a little on the pricey side but long lasting and working great! It actualy picks up bigger items as well...Great vaccum!

The Dyson made for pet hair. They have several but the especially for pet is great. I have two large dogs and I vaccuum my Lab everyday and it has held up for years, it is quiet and does a great job.

Never heard of a Dyson, but we have a bissell and 3 dogs with plenty of dander and hair. I'm surprised, as much as we've used it, it hasn't died. It does well for us!

Dyson. Don't scrimp. They run about 400-500 bucks but you'll never be sorry. Mine's great and I have 2 dogs and a cat.
