I have used the fabric softener idea before and it worked well. Just make sure you just use a light spray. I sweep my carpet with a broom after misting...It gets the hair out of the corners and along the walls better than a vacuum. Happy cleaning!

As far as I have seen with use of baking soda it removes stains and odors, but never even thought about dog hair. If it works let me know..I have 2 dogs and a cat... could be handy.

get a lint roller. they work great with dog hair.
