I would recommend getting an air cleaner such as the whirlpool, I think it's called whispure-- it has a charcoal filter and a hepa filter.

Vacuum like crazy! Also try air filters. You're not allergic to your dog, but probably dog hair and dander. After vacuuming, ait filters will help purify your air. You won't ever get ALL of it out of your house, but probably 95%. Good luck to you!

you won't. trust me. however much you get out, there's still tons of it in the ac vents, in the carpet, in all those nooks and crannies in your house. I have Dyson vaccum. works great at sucking up dirt and hair. once done with the whole house, if you vacuumed the same area again the next day, you'll get more hair and dust. either get used to it or get rid of the dog. you'll never be able to get rid of ALL of it.

I'm also allergic to dog, but I wouldn't know what to do with out my dogs. I have two and they are inside dogs. What I do is every 6 months I vacuum my carpets really well, then I shampoo the carpets. I also have an air filter that cleans the air. Good luck

Vacuum, vacuum, and vacuum. If you don't have a good vacuum, go buy one. You don't need a $500 dyson (mixed feelings on these vacs), but if you're using a 1990's vacuum, you may consider upgrading. Then, get a good carpet cleaner in there to clean the carpets. Make sure they DRY vacuum before they clean the carpets (all good cleaners should do this, many don't as a cost saving step for themselves). You can visit www.IICRC.com as a reference to find good companies in your area. Also, wipe down all the walls (swiffers work well for this). Sweep and mop all hard surface floors. May want to consider getting someone out to clean out your airducts too. Some carpet cleaners offer this service as well and many of the duct cleaning companies have cameras that they can stick down the vents to verify whether you need them cleaned or not, and also they can do it after to show the results. If the dog was on the furniture, you may want to consider getting any pieces that the dog frequented professionally cleaned as well.
