my dad says dogs dont belong inside beacause their hair makes you infertile and makes u sick so i want to know. this could finally lead to me getting a dog so plz post.

As far as I know dog hair does not make you infertile. However, a lot of people have serious allergies to pet dander (carried in the animal's fur) that cause coughing, sneezing, and itchy and watery eyes. So your dad is sort of right- but only if someone in your house is allergic to dogs.

The only sickness dog or cat hair can bring on is allergies. Also, if you're already asthmatic, it may exacerbate the situation, but it will not CAUSE asthma. Your dad apparently just doesn't want a dog in the house. Or he's very, very, very ill-informed. Cat litter can be a problem if someone is already ill with a lowered immunity or if someone is pregnant, but otherwise, the litter is not a problem either.

Pet hair can contribute to symptoms if you have alergies, however it cannot cause anyone to be infertile. If you're thinking about getting a dog, make sure before-hand that you are not allergic. You can test this by spending some time with a friend's dog before you get your own. Good luck!!! =D

Animal DANDER may cause an allergic reaction in some individuals, but as for their hair - that's about it.
