How to get dog hair off off the carpets?

this carpet is a different texture to the ones that tape works on, the hair wont come off from vacuuming either. things are getting really bad, his hair is just flying off now that summer is coming and i brush him everyday but there's still heaps. the fur is flying in the air, landing on our clothes, on our beds, in our food. something has to be done! we dont have a backyard and we cant cram him in his crate all day. what else can we do to help this fur from taking over our house?

dont tell me, DOGS SHED you shouldnt have gotten a dog because i dont wanna hear it

Start by looking at the dogs diet. Cheap food with a lot of grain in it will cause dogs to shed more excessively. When I say cheap food, don't Gage that by the price of the food. Gage it by the ingredients. If there are more then 2 grains listed in the first 5 ingredients, then it is cheap food no matter what you paid for it or what its called.

To get hair off of carpet, spray it lightly with staticgard and it will lift from the carpet much easier.

Brush the dog outside daily. It only takes a minute to give them a quick once over.

what type of vaccuume do you have? Some cheaper models just cant keep up with the hair. Make sure its not clogged or anything too.

I guess your options are, remove carpet, and install tile/hardwood floors..

invest in a better vaccumme. alot of people like the Dyson Animal.

Hiya,

One tip (though tedious!) is rubber gloves!

If you stroke along the carpet...dragging the hairs into a pile sort of thing. Then you can just pick them up and dispose.

The rubber attracts/gathers them together.

Another idea would be a well rung out, damp cloth....use that to gather the hairs.

I have always used a pair of rubber gloves and a bowl of water. Just dip your hands in the water and rub the carpet, drawing the loose hairs to a pile. Works like a dream. You can also use this method to remove loose hairs from your dog. Don't press too hard on him coz it may hurt.

you go to the hardware store %26amp; ask them for carpet brush... I hope that can work...

It so happens that during this time....dogs shed more.....but if this is bothering you, as it shows.........ask a doctor's assistance.
