How do you get dog hair off a blanket?

I was recently dog sitting a young golden retriever for a friend. I had a fuzzy fleece-like blanket on my sofa and it seems to have been a magnet for the dog hairs. I have washed it several times (which did remove some hair), but there is still a lot (the dog hair is pretty long and seems to kinda get woven into the fabric). I have seen those sticky-tape rollers, but that would be a lot of work for both sides of a 5x6 foot blanket. Any dog owners have any special tricks for getting long dog hairs off blankets and furniture?

Next time you have the dog over don't wash the item, take it out and shake and then use the vacumn on it and then take it to the dry cleaner. What type of material is the sofa? You can also try a damp paper towel, that sometimes works, but it's better on cat hair, but anything is worth a try.
