It will help ALOT Also bathing makes dog shed more so in the spring I bath my dogs, and brush them all out and it helps to get rid of most of the hair.

Excessive shedding can be the result of a dietary deficiency. It can be helped and eventually controlled by feeding a premium dog food such as Solid Gold, Nutro, Blue Buffalo, Fromm's. All of these foods have essential fatty acids which help maintain skin and coat. If the skin ins't healthy, the hair folicle will not be healty either. This lends to extra shedding. There are many products that can be used as supplements if you do not or can not change your dog's diet. Linatone is a good place to start. Their plus formula will put the dogs coat into good condition. After that their regular product will do the job. There are fish oils, herbs and supplements such as the missing link or nupro that do an excellent job also. Whatever you do, introduce the supplements slowly as the fats can cause an upset stomache and runny stools. Bathing, brushing and using baby wipes (alcohol free) will help also. If the supplements are too costly vitamin E or ome to two tablespoons of olive oil two or three times a week will do the trick also. Even a can of tuna or salmon will help. I take my labs to the groomer once a year. They will brush the dog out and this helps as well. I have hair in the house but it's minimal especially for Labs. Good Luck

I have a lab, a golden and two cats. I have fallen in love with the "Furminator" de-shedding tool. It's a little pricey for a brush, but it works wonders on both my dogs and cats! I use it on each pet every 10 days or so %26amp; it really works. Use it in combination with the Roomba robotic vacuum and there's a lot less to worry about cleaning!

Also, make sure all your pets are healthy %26amp; eating a high quality pet food.

Good luck!
