I have a dog and everytime i vacuum i smell dog hair burning is there a way to get this smell out of

is the brush motor driven by a belt? Hair builds up around the roller and the motor. You can use a thread puller to cut hair off the roller and anywhere else you see it.

It does sound like you have hair built up somewhere in the vacuum that gets very hot. Most vacuums come apart very easily around the brush assembly for you to check.

If you can't find it, you can either deal with it, wait for the hair to catch fire or get a new vacuum.

Get a new vac that takes things from the floor to the bag direct.Put down carpet powder smelly stuff it will be in the bag then .

You sure you don't need a new vacuum?

Look for the powders that you sprinkle on your rug. Or you can add scent bags to your vacuum bag.

If you smell it burning then, it means that the hair is getting to a part of the vacuum where it shouldn't be. Check and/or change the filter.

I am not sure what kind you have but some have many parts and filters that can be taken apart and cleaned and replaced; mine has the removable cup to empty and I was surprised how many parts I could take apart and clean and that solved the problem until it needed to be cleaned again

turn the vacuum over and check the brush, it could be full of hair and fur. you need to keep this bar clean. also look at the belt, it could be about ready to break.

Sounds like the hairs, yours and your pets get caught up where the belt meets the roller. Simple cleaning by removing the hairs usually helps. LOL I know this cuz I have long hair, and it gets caught up in the wheels and belts all the time, and I have to regularly clean it out.

take apart your vacuum you probably have a bunch of dog hair wrapped around the belt it heats up and starts burning.

If you are smelling burnt hair clean out your roller on the bottom of the vacuum. Also check the belt, you may have hairs on the small silver roller that your belt goes on. Your belt may also need to be replaced before too long.

Word of advice. Keep a belt on hand. It will break when you least expect it.

rinse your hoses and any washable part of your vacum with vineagar and water.... This should take the smell out...
