Yes - they are the same, but there is an important distinction.
Oster Golden A5 is a typical clipper used for dogs, it has a strong motor and is capable of clipping the undercoat of dogs with that kind of coat.
The A5 can also be used at barbershops (and was used on people first).
However -- there are cheaper models that are used only for people hair and limited dog breeds -- for example, poodles are easier to clip than some lab-mixes.
So - yes, a clipper is a clipper is a clipper, there are just high quality heavy duty models and cheaper ones. Some dogs require the heavy duty models.

no they are not .
Are dog hair clippers the same as people hair clippers?
Technically, no, but if you take off the labels and put them side by side there's really no difference. Especially the "cheaper" ones. I have used both FOR both lot's of times over the years, and both dogs and kids came out fine, lol. Just make sure to disinfect between users, lol.

dog hair clippers are a lot more heavy duty, in the past used normal clippers to clip a freinds dog and burnt them out, hubby not impressed
