My dog is a Choc. Lab/Mastiff mix with dark brown short fur - I vaccum every afternoon, and clean the crown molding of my floors w/the dust buster. He gets groomed twice a month, but there is still fur on my floors, and pretty much everywhere else constantly. Is there anything I can do to keep my dog from shedding all over? He went to the vet recently so I know he is healthy....Hes a great dog so he stays either way, but I'd love some advice. Thanks!

However, do you brush him in between professional groomings? Ask your groomer about an appropriate brush that can be used on him DAILY. Make it a routine, it will likely be one he will enjoy. Getting to go out and spend "quality time with Mommy" is a JOY for my dogs.

I live in the country and we believe all animals stay outside no matter what so it won't hurt your dog unless you live in the city where he could get hit by a car or stolen then you could always get a kennel for him.

I have the same problem, and unfortunetly there is nothing you can do. Just brush him daily!!! I actually vacuum my dog as well LOL and she doens't mind, that gets all the loose hair off, there is also shampoo's you can buy to decrease shedding, but they don't really work,. It is natural fo rthem to shed so they will. But brushing them EVERYDAY will help. I have a shepard, so trust me I know the hair thing.

I think a trim would be good but at the same time i dont think it is actully possible to stop him from shedding. because he is an animal just like we shed hair on our heads. plus dogs shed more during the winter my dog does also

Brush him daily to prevent shedding. Also get a furminator to take out the under hair that brushing might leave behind. It's shedding season so you can have more hair than normal. That's all you can do until he'sdone shedding. He got lot of undercoat that needs to be brush out that a groomer doesn't/might not do. Grooming if you mean bathing him..I don't think you can trim a lab... you should ask the groomer to also brush him (I think they charge you extra for brushing a dog..not part of the groom service unless it specify)
